OnePlus 6 along with the older OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will receive the OxygenOS 5.1.9 update in the coming days. The most striking feature which accompanies this update is the Google Lens mode. The Google Lens mode will make use of the combined prowess of Google’s Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Search to deliver contextual suggestions and smart search results whenever users scan an object using the phone’s camera. The update will reach the three devices via the OTA method. Also, OnePlus 6 users will benefit more since the OxygenOS 5.1.9 update will bring some additional improvements in the camera of the phone which the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T users will miss. OnePlus has clarified that the camera improvements in the OnePlus 6 will include better clarity, dynamic range, edge detection in Portrait mode and better accuracy and faster focusing.
OnePlus in its official forum post said “The integrated Google Lens Mode uses the phone camera to surface information about the objects through machine learning to provide more details and also provide relevant search tags. They can use the camera to: scan QR codes and use the image recognition tool to get more information about things like books, buildings, and works of art, by simply tapping on it.”
