Google has added four new features to its data-saving application, Datally, today. Datally by Google was released by the search giant last year with an aim to save additional mobile data for the users. Google has stated that an average Android user has saved 21% of their mobile data by using data from Monday to Thursday and having Friday covered by Datally. Google has today rolled out Guest Mode, Daily Limit, Unused Apps and Wi-Fi Map
features to the Datally app for Android to enhance the user experience further. As the name itself suggests, the daily data feature allows users to set a limit on a daily basis, so that when they consume the entire daily limit, they can block data for the rest of the day.Another much-needed feature added by Google is Guest Mode, which allows users to set the amount of data to let another person use on your smartphone. Before handing your phone to a family member or a friend, you can fire up the Datally app and enable the guest mode with a limit to not let them consume more than that.
Google has also added Unused Apps feature to the Datally app with which a user can uninstall an unused app and keep the phone from leaking data. For instance, 20% of mobile data is used in the background by apps they haven’t opened in over a month, and the Unused Apps feature displays the apps which you’re not using, but that are consuming data in the background. With one tap, you can uninstall an unused app to reduce the data consumption.
The Wi-Fi Map feature shows you all the nearby Wi-Fi network with which you can find the best quality network nearby. This feature is available for Indian users as well, and it displays all the Wi-Fi networks nearby- be it a small store or a big Mall, Wi-Fi networks will be displayed.
These features are already rolling out to the users starting today. If you want to try out these new features, update or install the Datally app from Google Play Store.
