Gionee A1 Plus and A1 Lite Gets a Much Needed Price Cut; Now Available for Rs 23,999 and Rs 13,999 Respectively

Chinese brand Gionee is under tremendous pressure due to the resurgence of its counterparts such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo. Earlier this year, Gionee announced its all-new Gionee A range of smartphones. Until now, the company three smartphones under the Gionee A lineup- the Gionee A1, A1 Plus, and the A1 Lite. Today, Gionee announced a price cut for both the Gionee A1 Plus and the Gionee A1 Lite.

Alongside the price cut, Gionee also announced partner offers from Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Paytm. Talking about the price cut, Gionee has slashed the price of Gionee A1 Plus by Rs 3,000, which makes the device retail for Rs 23,999 in the country. The Gionee A1 Lite received a Rs 1,000 price cut and will now retail for Rs 13,999. Both the devices were retailing for the launch price itself since this price cut.

Earlier this year in March, Gionee launched the Gionee A1 smartphone, followed by the Gionee A1 Plus in June 2017, and very recently, the A1 Lite was launched officially. We have reviewed the Gionee A1 Plus here at TelecomTalk, and impressed with the device's loudspeaker and battery performance.

Talking about the partner offers, Gionee has partnered with Bharti Airtel, and Reliance Jio and the telecom operators are offering additional data on purchase of the A1 Plus and A1 Lite.

Bharti Airtel is giving up to 10GB additional data every month for six months on the recharge of Rs 349 plan or any unlimited Airtel combo plan. Reliance Jio is also offering 10GB data every month with the recharge of Rs 309 or above for six months. Both the telecom operators are proving additional 60GB data for the A1 Plus and A1 Lite buyers.

Gionee is yet again back with Paytm cashback vouchers offer. The company is now giving two Rs 250 cashback codes of Paytm to the buyers of Gionee A1 Plus and A1 Lite. Customers can use these cashback vouchers on a minimum purchase of Rs 350 or above to receive flat Rs 250 cashback. That said, the purchase should be done only on Paytm Mall application.

The Gionee A1 Plus sports a 6-inch Full HD display, and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 chipset. A 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is present inside the smartphone. The device comes with dual rear cameras along with a 20MP front-facing camera. It is backed by a 4550mAh battery.

The Gionee A1 Lite, on the other hand, also comes with a 20MP front-facing camera, but it uses a different processor. The A1 Lite is powered by the MediaTek MT6753 SoC and has a 5.3-inch display. Another USP of the device is the 4000mAh battery.
