Actually 108 (98+10) plan become 129 and not 98. I don't why people are crying so much. This is nothing compared to how Airtel is twisting its plan and jacking prices...

Remeber airtel base plan 21 became 45?????? Bhai itna mat ro jio ko leke. People who like what jio is will stay and qtrly nos. Are showing who is the boss

Those - un happy with removal of 98 plan - can opt for Jio plan 329 available with 84 days validity . Data 6 GB & 3000 minutes calling to other networks.

329 plan works out 109 per month against 98 plan . Only rs 11 extra . (329÷3) = 109

But One gets average 1000 minutes calling per 28 days to other networks.

The plan is cheaper to Airtel plan @379.

Jio gives the option to buy data @10 per GB lasting till plan validity or at rs 5 per GB with bulk data packs (30 day's validity).

There is more freedom, to pay & use data as per need . Cost per day is 3.92 .

Additional recharge for IUC will not provide any data as they provide a coupon and to activate this coupon you need to have base plan of greater than 349. Here your base plan is of 329 so you need to recharge for 11 for 800Mb data and like wise. I have faced same issue and this was clarified by customer care. Issue is they need to clearly mention the terms and conditions so that customer knows them before recharge.

Jio is a DATA player and there is no room for voice only customers. though Jio has jiophone offering but one has to opt for phone and plan for that. This is completely justified because cost of maintaining data network is much higher than 2G network.

2G customer can stay with Airtel and vil legacy 2g network . to be frank airtel and vil has openly declared that they are not spending on 2G networks anymore so for them also 2g customer maintenance cost is almost zero since both operators use S-RAN equipment. No need to hang additional radio on BTS for 2G band. Both made fool out of their 2G customer saying cost of maintaining network is high hence minimum plan has to increase. It is jio who should increase price since it carrying voice customers on data network...

Why should Jio users pay more when this was promised during launch that voice calls will be free forever? Why do users need to pay more does it makes any difference to end user where they are latched to 4g/3g or 2g network for voice calls?

Can you please elaborate on this and provide some insights!

BSNL H+ gives is much better than Jio 4G

+1. At my place Jio max out at 400 to 750 kbps whereas i get 1-9 mbps in BSNL H+ network. Jio is the most hyped network.

Stop promoting..
Every operator is costly now.
Atleast they should offer 500 MB per day or 250MB per day @129.

Hey FYI MB and Mb is very different. Also i think speedtest would have been a more prudent one instead of mobile widget showing data transfer speeds.

We all know the nature of Airtel and VIL. But never expected Jio to join the bandwagon.

The brand perception of Jio has changed

Exactly. Jio now wants to en cash the Jio apps ecosystem that it has been promoting as free apps with their recharges. Jio knows that India is data hungry country and if it keeps the pack price a little bit less compared to the others users will flock to Jio. This has been its strategy from last financial year when it started increasing its plan prices in the name of IUC.

This has also benefited Jio, which has been successful in selling its customer database to big companies like facebook and helped Jio in return saving its parent company RIL which was about to sink with the global oil prices crashing. Airtel is catching up to all this and it too has been promoting Xtream as a streaming platform. VIL was a late entrant to all this it has too off late started seriously focusing on its streaming platform play.

Currently its Airtel that's providing the most benefits out of any plan compared to any other service provider and its speeds are also more. So users need to take this into consideration and not just blindly look at the recharge pack prices.

It's normalising base price, rather than someone creating panic. Use or don't use doesn't matter. Telecos just need upto 200 per user per 28days. Gareeb p*rn won't help anyone. Remember that u paid 200 for 1gb data& 1+rs per call in the past. Now use or don't use, u need to pay. Telecos need to pay for loans& power bills+ operational costs+ R&D+ confidence to investors. Socialistic approach won't create wealth or help any. Just earn& pay 200 as mobile bill. Growth happens with pyramid. flat line model will only messup evrything.

For profitable telecom business 199rs per user per 28days makes sense wrt investors in telecom business. This helps in R&D. Else non will invest in this sector. Telecos must become expandable with IOT rather than selling as Water meter like billers. They need to cash on services.

U can expect 299 as average asking price for 5G.

High speed 5G will add next level push wrt services, inorder to catch that, prices need to be raised.

Don't think of saving, think of creating wealth, U need to change how you think.

Why use jio, if u don't need data?

Cost of 2G is higher than 4G. It's in operation just bcz everything is place. 2g will die soon. Telecos will forcefully give 6months time to end 2g&3g. By end of 2020, 2g&3g could die. There r more 4g phones in market than users. That justifies everything for telecos to end 2g&3g. With jio moving to 5G, rest will stop older technologies to save more.
