Reliance Jio Prepaid Users Will Now Have to Shell Out Rs 129 Every Month as Base Tariff
Reliance Jio has discontinued the Rs 98 prepaid plan in India which was introduced back in December 2019 (after the tariff hike) as the most affordable and lowest prepaid recharge offering with 28 days validity. The prepaid plan has been…
Lockdown is saving Jio from mass migration due to IUC , Now people are left with no option so they have to stay with jio until restrictions are in place..
I knew this will happen, in future they'll force us to do compulsory recharge of ?1000 for 3 months of internet. And later price will increase. 95% of people use internet for Non-sense stuff's. Time to switch of MTNL/BSNL sim and limit Jio/Airtel to manipulate prices
For a sub-par 4G connectivity, these plans are getting increasingly & ridiculously expensive. All the telecom operators were betting on people getting "addicted" to online services at lower prices after which they would pay huge amounts to keep the online addiction going. Not gonna happen. People will switch to lower data plans.
All the 5G talk is laughable when most 4G services at most places (apart from the uber urban ones) are terrible. They are mostly slow & inconsistent. With portability made easy customers will be fickle minded.
If jio targeted to Data concentric pack then Its so costly Rs 999 for 3Gb/Day for 90 days ... then I like to shift BSNL Rs551 for 5gb/day for 90days. Speed comparatively better than 4g
Jio is a DATA player and there is no room for voice only customers. though Jio has jiophone offering but one has to opt for phone and plan for that. This is completely justified because cost of maintaining data network is much higher than 2G network.
2G customer can stay with Airtel and vil legacy 2g network . to be frank airtel and vil has openly declared that they are not spending on 2G networks anymore so for them also 2g customer maintenance cost is almost zero since both operators use S-RAN equipment. No need to hang additional radio on BTS for 2G band. Both made fool out of their 2G customer saying cost of maintaining network is high hence minimum plan has to increase. It is jio who should increase price since it carrying voice customers on data network...
Brother, 98 was Data Major as other Operator IUC was not included, oppositely 129 is having IUC means more Voice, don't be Like Jio SpokesPerson here
This is worst thing that JIO is doing.
Even daily plan of rs19 got removed.
so its extremely painful for those who just want to PORT OUT.
Just days before I opted Rs 98 plan. It's sad that I have to spend more next month for more or less same benefits.
Those - un happy with removal of 98 plan - can opt for Jio plan 329 available with 84 days validity . Data 6 GB & 3000 minutes calling to other networks.
329 plan works out 109 per month against 98 plan . Only rs 11 extra . (329÷3) = 109
But One gets average 1000 minutes calling per 28 days to other networks.
The plan is cheaper to Airtel plan @379.
Jio gives the option to buy data @10 per GB lasting till plan validity or at rs 5 per GB with bulk data packs (30 day's validity).
There is more freedom, to pay & use data as per need . Cost per day is 3.92 .
Worst part is that Jio has disallowed all the recharge apps from showing these voice only plans as recharge options so you are forced to recharge from My Jio app only and consequently aren't able to get any cashback. Clearly they are not interested in promoting voice only plans for smartphones and will withdraw the remaining such plans in the coming time. So even if you don't need data, you will have to buy daily data plans of higher denominations or get a Jio Phone. After the lockdown, broadband penetration is skyrocketing (non Jio Fiber because of its poor availability and rotten plans) and people don't want too much mobile data so they might be going for voice only plans, causing panic for Jio.
yes i am much more satisfied with 2GB/day plan from BSNL on H+ network of bsnl than spending 20% extra money on jio.
