A few days back JioFiber announced an update on its broadband offerings. Along with adding a new plan, the internet service provider also added a demo offer for the customers. Earlier, the cheapest offering from JioFiber came for Rs 699…

The biggest advantage anf game changer for Jio Fiber is its prepaid billing (instead of postpaid like Airtel), which allows customers the convenience of long term payment and ability to be not billed/charged in case of non-usage (jio doesn't disconnect your connection/number if its not recharged/used). Airtel Fiber ia no mach to Jio Fiber, and Airtel doesn't deserve any artificial premium bullshit!

Airtel gives re authenticate error, when I tried to change plan to 499. Before 499 option is unavailable, now it won't allow. Airtel's 50 shades of grey sucks. Airtel must learn to be either as black or white.

Airtel's shades of grey game will hurt itself with jio on other side.

I tried 5 times....got same error.

on ground jio fiber provide less coverage than airtel. When I enqured local jio office expected time for connection surprisingly replied it takes almost a year as its new and less demand and more very far from hub centre..

and Airtel its expected when Mittal felt some khujli and very soon Airtel increase the price as 4yrs back when airtel provided Rs399 for 2gb/30days pack.

@gautam 100% agree. I'm going to choose Jio Fiber over Airtel Xtreme, because of lower tariff & prepaid billing.

That's an excellent comment, Gautam! I personally did not know that Reliance Jio Fiber is actually "PREPAID". Your comment is going to help a lot of people. Thank you very much.

Airtel pioneered Unlimited Internet (3.3 TB FUP) on Fiber Broadband. Jio is just offering it at 299 less for some months.
Like I said, Jio has only one legal weapon - Price.

One is real fiber and prepaid everywhere. The other is patchy fiber and ADSL with postpaid billing.

Kindly mail to broadband customer care team to change your bill plan to Airtel-UL-Xstream Value 499 Unlimited GB (40Mbps/1024Kbps) COMBO Plan with immediate effects along with Fixedline Number details.

It worked for me.

Note: Mention exactly same plan details as highlighted.

Airtel 499/- plan doesn't provide Symmetric speeds, download speed at around 40 mbps and upload speed around 5 mbps

Agree Gautam , prepaid option in Jio fiber does give us the flexibility to recharge as per our covenience.

I myself have Jio fiber from one year . Stopped recharging , in march as shifted to home town & restarted again in July. Saved rs 2000 .

Also plans can be changed anytime as per our requirement.

Postpaid connections are a problem , as none of the operators will allow smooth exit & we have to run after them & burn our blood to get rid.

Bharat Bhai - Jio is offering Jio fiber plans at 399 +18 % gst = 481.

The payment can be recharged in advance just as prepaid & plan has a validity of 30 day's .

Same way Airtel is offering 499 +18% gst = 589.

But no prepaid option available . Compulsory postpaid.

That is the difference ,as informed it will be difficult to disconnect the post paid connection

Airtel 499/- plan asking for 1000/- installation charges. Saying, else go for 799/- plan paying for 3 months advance and change it to 499/- after 15 days. Over this, Xstream TV requires additional monthly fee of rs 160/- per month, apart from security deposit. Website says, refund of 1500/- security only after active use of 12 months while the person from company said you can get full refund after 3 months as well.

Effectively, 499 and 799 plans cost 4750/- and 4850/- respectively for first three months if no refund of security deposit before active use for 12 months (as mentioned on airtel website), else, 3250/- and 3350/- respectively. (If one wants to use broadband and xstream tv both)

Clearly not even close to what is being marketed.

And if 499/- plan cant be selected once person joins 799/- plan, then this pack is gonna cost 1103/- per month. By selecting 499/-, one may use broadband and tv both at 750/- per month.
