Airtel, Vodafone Idea, Jio Need to Work on Increasing ARPUs for Market Stability
Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea will have to substantially increase their average revenue per users (ARPUs) to achieve long-term sustainability at a time when the sector is going through a rough financial phase in the wake of AGR-related payment…
2G must be shutdown and the spectrum must be either used for 3G or for 4G.
India will not prosper if the operators keep 2G for the missed call creatures.
They are already too costly, No Plan under 100 rupees.
They should make sure plan ranges from 100 to 1000 per month. Jio removed 98 base plan that was already worse.
Nobody is stopping these telcos to increase rates.
They all follow each other. The problem maker jio is now leading in increasing.
Delays in further increase may be getting late because of AGR court verdict on payment schedule. Rates may increase accordingly.
Other reason for delay in increase, may be Airtel & jio may have joined hands & are waiting for early exit of voda/idea. After that , both can rule.
2G must going on, Shut 3G as no 3G only phones in the market. Our elder people rely on 2G for voice calls in villages.
Why the Jio is problem maker? Data rates were collapsed Rs.250 per GB to below Rs.5/- per GB after JIo entry.
Advice : Airtel wants to install a roof top pole tower near in my area which is very close to my house. Is it safe ?
Vasaikar : You can make a formal request via your Society or gated Community or Condominium to seek appropriate certification from Airtel that ensures minimum (or for that matter maximum) radiation levels that may be reached by that tower that are within limits of human endurance with a copy to Health Ministry of both State & Centre. Airtel isn't known to be honest or reliable, so you'll have to present yourself with a cause for reprieve in case Airtel issues an 'incorrect' certificate. Prepare a Lawyer as a standby just in case.
I think ARPU has to be more than Rs.200 for any of these troubled telcos to sustain themselves. My guess: Rs.275 - Rs.300 or try to achieve Rs.200 with fresh injection of funds.
2G is least efficient capacity wise while 4G is most efficient. The only reason 2G survives is because of its high range. Otherwise 2G and 3G spectrum farming is a good idea. With time, 2g and 3g networks will make way for higher capacity networks.
Now road side canopy sim retailer selling mnp sim at just rs 50 and giving 2 months of ul packs and jio retailer in this price giving prime + 199 pack at just rs 50 for only mnp customer. My circle is mpcg btw.
Well the good thing over here is, the network will be improved. Just a health concern. Not that I want to complaint.
Exactly, the main creater of the problem is Jio, for Jio the entire telecom industry get collapsed. Its main movite to create monopoly by throwing out its competitors & show greed in its cheaper data.
Although the network shall improve leaps and bounds just want to know if it's okay. I don't want to get into the legal issues. I know I'm Mumbai, many buildings have roof top antennas which are also residential areas.
Note that all operators in India did not install 3G and 4G transmitters in all its 2G towers. Thats why any technology signal (3G and 4G) after 2G is weak in all the operators at most of the places during travelling.
You are a technology s | u m. You do not know the advantages of 3G over 2G and 4G.
He is currently in uae i think, l so tiktok ban is not applied to him keep your work going sudha 🙂 😉 😛
Bro .. bro...bro... @Thamilan. I also just use 4G. As it is available here. I live in Uttarakhand. Not every place or city is facilitated with 4G coverage. Most of places are rural area. Rural areas mean less income. Not many people need 4G speeds. They just want to make or receive calls. Many people can't upgrade to 4G. Yeah many. And 2G coverage is available almost everywhere. That's not the case with 4G. Maybe I have missed very important reason why 2G is required. Ultimately, 2G can't be shutdown, just because u have stopped using... Hahah
India is a country of villages.
I have Airtel 4G for voice & high speed data.
I have Vodafone too...(as it's my old number since my childhood + I get Vodafone 2G almost everywhere while traveling, otherwise u know 4g networks
No. Jio is going to bring 5G across India, and will be doing it in the shortest time possible. Of course, 5G plans will be a tad expensive in order to recover the costs, but eventually Jio will reduce them. I just hope there's monthly data and not daily data plans when 5G arrives. Jio's prices will always remain the lowest of the lot.
can u tell your city name as I am too from mpcg circle......and by the way is jio too giving 2 month ul for mnp customers or only idea airtel ?
Airtel shut down 3g in rajasthan... it's shifting 3g to 4g in phased manner in villages..cities almost shutdown
Jio has 10+10+20 =40mhz(band 5+3+40)
Airtel have 3+10+15+20=48mhz(band 8+3+1+40
Vodafone 10mhz(band 3)
In my village rajasthan
Sounds like Rajan Matthews came to TT with another name.
Go and blame the handset companies for not making 3G and 4G VoLTE feature phones.
All the rest here are missed call creatures here thst support 2G and oppose the later technology 3G. Such creatures have lost their common sense.
If u need the useless 2G why haven't you all appealed to jio to start 2G services?. Answer to the point or $ hut yourselves.
> Jio has 20 MHz in the 2300 MHz band (but sometimes shows 10 MHz) ; 5 MHz each in the 850 wnd 1800 MHz band.
> Airtel has 2G in 1800 MHz band ; 4G in 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz band
> Vodafone has 2G in 900 MHz band ; 3G and 4G in 2100 MHz band ; but vodafone's own 4G 1800 MHz and idea's own 2G and 4G 1800 MHz has is not live yet.
@ashok Data rates collapsed, but on the other hand, the 'minimum amount' that each subscriber has to pay to keep the number has increased substantially and hence the resultant increase in ARPU across all operators. Jio killed the competition as much as it can with rock bottom tariffs and has then geared up to milk the users now... along with the rest of the operators who out of compulsion or eagerness will just follow Jio's price increases.
I am from ujjain City. no only airtel and idea customers, jio gives only 1 month of pack 199 with prime membership in rs 50, in airtel and idea one month plan mnp is absolutely free but for 2 month in airtel isea you need to pay rs 50. 🙂 so jio deal is not attractive.
