is happening.! NCF is for cable operators & DTH operators bcz they don't hv any link to broadcaster content charges. NCF for OTT is insane. Then wrt if internet is for& it's totally against Internet Neutrality as OTT content is chargeable differently to rest data which use same connection. It totally sounds like a lost game for airtel.

This is a very confusing article when there was no need for it to be so. Is the NCF being charged for OTT additionally or is it one time payment for regular dth and ott combined at 153rs total? The wording is abysmal.

Net neutrality doesn't come here. Airtel xtream is proprietary. Airtel can charge whatever it wants. Even Amazon can do it on their firesticks in the future and block apps you want like they are doing with HBO Max and Peacock in USA. They haven't done it yet in India because the userbase is too low. Once they gain a significant percentage of customers I wouldn't be surprised if they start doing it here in India as well. The only real Android platform available widely for OTT in India is Mi 4k stick.

Pretty sure Airtel has a very well staffed dirty tricks department whose only job is to come up with stuff like this.
