China Mobile and Huawei Deliver World’s Highest 5G

The new 5G site on the altitude of 6500 meters shows capability to deliver the network to the peak of Everest.

At the altitude of 5,300 meters, the 5G download speed exceeded 1.66 Gbps, where the upload speed tops 215 Mbps.

Base stations were built in Mount Everest Base Camp at the altitude of 5,300 meters,

the Transition Camp at 5,800 meters, and the Forward Camp at 6,500 meters.

Forget the speed, and think about the military implications of this. China has been aggressively following expansion policy in south south sea and Indian ocean region before and after the covid-19 outbreak. Off late Chinese companies are buying stakes in companies in europe and other countries. Germany had to bring a govt order to stop sale in companies share to chinese stake holders. Same here in India. Countries are providing monetary benefits to companies looking to shift manufacturing bases from china for eg. Japan. Nobody wants a unipolar world and never china being the numero uno.

Not sure how 5G will help end consumers in anyway.

The need of the hour is not 5G but how Indian Telecom industry can be revamped and made to serve the current customers n provide better service.

5G in India what I see is it's not going to happen anytime soon.

@Bindu Sharma Agreed, we don't need #5G anytime nearby. Let us first breathe and let things settle.
