VIL starts phasing out 3G in AP & TS
It looks like VIL started phasing out 3G (5MHz on 2100 Band) in AP & TS for a 4G carrier.
Now only 2G/4G signal radiates(in our area).
Have been facing integration issues, where after a complaint was blown away by the regular trumpet - restart, switch off, apn ... And the tech team says 'everything is GREEN.'
For now, let them beat around the bush. Just comforting myself with a hope of +ve tomorrow, else hard to have patience with such a kind of QoS and support.
- Hoping for a better tomorrow.
Addition: Just to be precise
The integration issues mentioned above are with Vodafone brand connection and that Idea brand connection has no such integration issues. The latter has made even VoLTE active. Now that nirvana is all migrated to red, these issues are inevitable to those postpaid customers too.
Yeah it sucks. I was in the same boat few months back with severe issues with band 41 (no data output when phone connected to band 41. All complaints went deaf ears but it was automatically sorted.
Then there is Jio who cannot really do anything of severe congestion due to spectrum constraint and heavy load.
Airtel here is hopeless. Absolutely trash in my city.
BSNL is always on ventilator. Now a purely voice based operator.
Indian telecom industry is messed up right now.
@SS (Shivang Singh) I wish they quickly enable VoLTE or VoWiFi and save me from becoming deaf.
Their 3G is still available in Hyderabad. Heard they might use 900 MHz for LTE and shift their 2G to 2.x MHz of 1800 MHz band. With B1, B8 we can expect better services. I hope they enable CA soon in AP circle.
@Srivatsava Yeah, I expect it to be phased out in coming days. In AP they hold 900MHz - a 5MHz carrier which should give superior coverage for VoLTE.
B1 - 5MHz(speed-capacity), B3 - 10MHz(coverage/speeds), B8 - 5MHz(Indoor-coverage), B41 - 10MHz(speeds-capacity). Expecting 60-80Mbps on 2/3CA or may go higher with Ma-MIMO too.
idea believes in 2g and 4g they have phaseout 3g in bangalore.
and idea is almost like that there is no 3g at all.
after voda-idea merger.
when making calls on vodafone falling back to 2g. 80% of times. when on 4g.
its not that 3g has been completely removed.
even on only 3g mode also when making calls, h,h+ is disappearing sometimes.
when only 3g is selected network is good, speed is little bit slow.
havent enabled volte.
Can feel something fishy here!
Personal Experience : Voice falls back to 2G i.e. on G, and not even E.
Such a pathetic voice quality. CC says, restart device, change device etc...
A simple software upgrade would fix this G to E, and the ground team are wasting customers' time.
BSNL is much better on voice quality on 2G than VIL.
Are they purposefully trying to give bad quality and push users for an upgrade?
It's 2020 and they still don't have VoLTE 😓 😔
It looks like they are just testing patience and playing with the sentiment of customers.
Either provide VoLTE or at-least provision proper voice on 2G. Nothing, and they expect 'What' from customer?
Been a month+ requested for contactless delivery of connection (just to experience) and there is not even a single communication or update on the order.
@srikapardhi Did VIL start 4G on Band 1? As per Tarang Sanchar now 3G is shutdown and 4G is working on Band 1 in Vijayawada. Not yet in Hyderabad though
Still 3G running on Band 1 here
As of now, I have never experienced the mentioned CA [1, 3] combinations (Before lockdown, CA was once enabled for a few days and then got disabled again). Most of the times I get latched on to B41 or 3 and fall back to 'G' for voice[VF], and VoLTE on ID. But I see 4G is enabled on B1,3,41.
May be it is planned in the next phase.
4G(on all bands) / Ma-MIMO > CA
It also depends on the Revenue per site or data consumption in respective areas.
There is this strange problem too which I'm facing, when band switching is happening among B1, B3, B41 - internet disconnects and then reconnects immediately after the switching happens and this happens within a fraction of seconds. Waiting for the optimisation, as this is hampering internet experience.
