Google is all set to host an event on October 4 to launch its latest flagships, Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. Not to mention, several specification rumours already surfaced online, but the biggest has come from carriers and retailers from across the globe, revealing almost everything about the smartphones.
The biggest information comes from Carphone Warehouse, where the retailer has not only posted the specifications in detail on the website but also has revealed both the black and white models of the phones. The Canadian carriers Bell and Telus also leaked official specifications of the smartphones in both White and Black color variants.
The information from Carphone Warehouse website introduces Google phones with a title “Meet Pixel”. It shows that the new Pixel comes loaded with Google Allo and Duo, the messaging and video calling apps for the users. The camera’s capability to capture action photographs using SmartBurst, Smart Storage for memory (automatically cleans up the storage), Presence of Google Assistant ‘OK Google’, USB-Type C charger, etc. are also shown on the website. According to the information listed on the website, 15-minutes of charging will provide seven hours of power. There are also custom Live cases.
Design-wise, the images of Google Pixel show the power and volume control buttons on the right, a headphone jack on the top and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. There are two slits seen near the USB-Type C charger, which looks like the dual-speakers. The camera with flash is located in the top center. The brand carries a logo “G” at the bottom.
Google Pixel Specifications:
As of the specifications are concerned, Google Pixel features a 5-inch full-HD AMOLED display of 1920 x 1080p resolution with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, a 2.15GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor and 4GB RAM. There are two variants listed for inbuilt storage, either a 32GB or a 128GB. The phone doesn’t support microSD card.
In terms of camera, there is a 12.3MP rear camera with aperture f/2.0 and image stabilization. The front camera is that of 8MP. Fingerprint scanner, NFC, 3.5mm headphone, USB Type-C and 2770mAh battery with fast charging capability are the other specs. This nano SIM smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat.
Google Pixel XL Specifications:
Most of the specifications of Google Pixel XL matches that of Google Pixel. The differences lie in their screen size and battery. Google Pixel XL has a bigger screen of 5.5-inch with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The battery is that of 3470mAh with the fast-charging facility.
In another news, Google is also gearing up to launch a new Chromecast capable of streaming 4K content. Dubbed as Chromecast Plus or Chromecast Ultra, the device is expected to be in launched on October 4. The launch event will be up for live streaming on YouTube. Google has already sent the launch invites for the day, which is to be held in San Fransisco. A website — madeby.google.com, shows October 5 as the launch date for India. It would be interesting to see if Google releases the device so quickly for the Indian markets.
