Authorities at BSNL Kerala telecom circle today announced that they're revising four plans in the circle. The plans in question are Combo STV 26, Maha Plan 949, Maximum Plan 999 and STV 1099. And the revision is a bad move as the telco decided to limit voice calls to 200 minutes per day with all the four plans. Earlier, the same plans offered unlimited voice calls without any daily FUP, same as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. However, this move will disappoint the BSNL prepaid customers in Kerala circle. Kerala is the largest circle for the government-owned unit, but with better market share comes least benefits. And that is what happening in BSNL's case right now.
Not so long ago, BSNL introduced the Maximum 999 tariff plan for all the subscribers in the country including Kerala prepaid circle users. The same plan is now revised to offer 200 minutes of voice calls per day and post that, calls will be charged at 20 paise per minute.
The same applies to the STV 26 plan, Maha Plan 949 and STV 1099 plan as they offer 200 minutes per day and post FUP calls will be charged at 20 paise per minute. Rest of the benefits of all the plans remain the same.
The STV 26 plan is valid for two days and gives 400 minutes of free voice calls to any network, 100 SMS per day and 150MB of data. The Maha Plan 949 is valid for 157 days and offers 200minutes of voice calls per day, 1GB data per day (after FUP speed of 40 Kbps) and 100 SMS per day.
The recently announced Maximum 999 plan offers 1GB data per day, 200 minutes of voice calls to any network every day and 100 SMS per day for 181 days. And lastly, the STV 1099 offers benefits of 3GB data per day, 200 minutes of voice calls per day and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. In some circles, the same STV 1099 plan providers unlimited data without any daily limit.
These new changes will be effective from February 26 and in just BSNL Kerala circle. BSNL prepaid users in other circles will get the previous benefits itself.
