BSNL reduces call rate by 80% for new prepaid users

State-run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) said it has reduced call rate by 80% for new customers under prepaid mobile services with validity of first two months on pan-India basis.

"We have reduced our tariff to rock bottom for new customer. All the plans and new schemes are well displayed in our web site bsnl.co.in,” R K Mittal, Director (CM), BSNL Board said in a statement.

The reduced call rate is applicable with voucher worth Rs 36 for per second plan and with plan voucher of Rs 37 for per minute plan for new customers only, including MNP customers, the telco said.

In plan voucher Rs 37, call rate of local/STD on Net is reduced to 10 paisa per minute and for Local/STD off-net is reduced to 30 paisa per minute.

Similarly, in plan voucher Rs 36 call rate of local/STD on Net is reduced to 1 paisa per 3 seconds and for Local/STD off-net is reduced to 2 paisa per 3 seconds, the telco added.
