Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is the only telecom operator in the telecom industry right now which has not increased the prices of its prepaid plans for the consumers. While other telecom operators have all increased the prices of their prepaid plans by as much as 40%, the state-led telecom operator has refrained from increasing the prices of its plans. However, BSNL is also the operator which has been offering massive data to its customers across many of its prepaid plans. But, at the same time, BSNL is also rounding off a lot of its prepaid plans for the subscribers by cutting down on the validity of some of the prepaid plans and by reducing their validity. In this new update, BSNL has announced that it will be changing the benefits of three of its prepaid plans which include the Rs 153, Rs 75 and Rs 74 prepaid plan. BSNL has made the following changes to these prepaid plans.

BSNL Revises Rs 74 and Rs 75 Prepaid Plan

Firstly, BSNL has noted about the prepaid recharges of Rs 74 and Rs 75. These prepaid recharges which used to come with 180 days of validity will now come with 90 days of plan validity. BSNL has also noted that the freebies benefit, and the validity of those freebies will also remain the same. It is worth noting that the Rs 75 prepaid plan by BSNL offers 10GB data to the consumers along with unlimited calling as freebies. The plan freebies also include 500 SMS, and the validity of these prepaid plan freebies is 15 days.

Revision of Rs 153 Prepaid Plan

Another plan which has been rounded up by BSNL and now comes with changed benefits is the Rs 153 prepaid plan. Right now, the Rs 153 prepaid plan by BSNL offers unlimited local, STD calls even to Mumbai and Delhi circle as part of the freebies. Along with this, the subscribers were also getting to enjoy 1.5GB data per day with an after-FUP speed of 40 Kbps along with 100 SMS per day. It is worth noting that the validity of these freebies remains 28 days. The subscribers also got free PRBT. But, after the new change in the BSNL prepaid plan benefits, the subscribers will get unlimited calling, but the data benefit will be reduced to 1GB data per day. Also, the PRBT will be the part of freebies, meaning that it will only be available to the subscribers for 28 days. The overall validity of the plan is also being reduced by half, down to 90 days. Another thing to keep in mind is that the change of validity will be applicable starting January 14, 2020.

BSNL Plans Still Attractive for Users

With this new change, the validity of all the three plans - Rs 75, Rs 74 and the Rs 153 prepaid plans has been reduced by half, down to 90 days from the previous limit of 180 days. There are other prepaid plans by BSNL which have also received some form of validity or benefit reduction, and these include the Rs 118 prepaid plan which now comes with only 21 days of validity. The Rs 29 and Rs 47 prepaid plans were also revised last month by BSNL to offer reduced validity. It is worth noting that despite these validity and benefit cuts, BSNL is shipping some of the most attractive and well-priced plans to the subscribers. Some of the best BSNL plans are shipping more data as compared to the private telecom offerings, and these plans are also available at a more affordable rate.
