Yahoo has upgraded Messenger with new features. The new features may not be actually “new” to the people around, especially for those who are using other messaging platforms like Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger. One of the new features in the upgrade is “read receipt”, implying Yahoo Messenger will show the sender if the receiver has received and read the message. This can be seen for group messages as well as for one-to-one chats across mobile, desktop and web.
The search service has also introduced “typing indicators” (the dots that appear when someone is typing a message) on Messenger. So, the user will know if the person on the other side has started to reply to the message.
“Big Emojis” is another addition to the upgraded Messenger app. Hearts, champagne bottles, and clapping hands will show up bigger than ever in the chat window on mobile.
The updates are available for both iOS and Android, as well as on all platforms (the web, mobile, and desktop).

Messaging services are constantly getting updates. It wasn’t long ago that Facebook Messenger introduced changes to its camera feature on its Messenger app, including masks, effects, stickers and frames to enhance the photos and videos. To use Messenger’s new Camera, open the app and tap the Camera button. Once opened, the users can add “Masks and Effects”. In addition to effects, they can add frames and stickers, or simply add text on the photos or draw images. It also made Messenger app capable of performing group video calls with up to 50 participants.
