Bharti Airtel is now allowing users to check the mobile numbers linked to their Aadhaar connection. Airtel customers can now send an SMS to 121 as ADCHK<space>Aadhaar number. Post sending the SMS, users will receive an SMS with details of the mobile numbers linked to their Aadhaar. As usual, this procedure will work only if your Aadhaar is linked to a mobile number. For example, your Airtel number, of which you want to check the details must be linked to an Aadhaar ID. Otherwise, you will receive an SMS as the mobile number not linked with Aadhaar, kindly link it and proceed. Also, do make a note that this procedure will display the Airtel numbers linked to your Aadhaar and not other other operator numbers.
Earlier, BSNL rolled out the same procedure, allowing its users to check the Aadhaar-linked numbers. And now, Airtel has rolled the same, following the directions from UIDAI. Other telcos Vodafone and Idea Cellular will roll out the procedure very soon. And this procedure works only with Airtel for now.
Aadhaar body UIDAI has asked all the Indian telecom operators to roll out a mechanism for users to check the mobile numbers linked to their Aadhaar ID. Back then, there was a deadline for every mobile user in India that he/she should re-verify their mobile number with Aadhaar on or before March 31, 2018.
However, there is no deadline as such now as the Supreme Court recently extended the deadline indefinitely. However, most of the mobile connection holders have already re-verified their mobile connections, thanks to the immense pressure from telcos saying the connection will be discontinued post the deadline.
Back in December 2017 itself, it was reported that more than 700 million users re-verified their mobile connection with Aadhaar. Expect Vodafone and Idea Cellular to roll out the procedure very soon.
