Bharti Airtel Completes Minimum 5G Rollout Obligation in All 22 Indian Telecom Circles
Bharti Airtel today announced that it has successfully completed the minimum 5G roll-out obligation on 26 GHz (mmWave Band) in all the 22 telecom circles of India. Airtel stated that the minimum roll-out obligation of introducing 5G services is in accordance with the norms set by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

TelecomTalk reported on August 3rd that Airtel had successfully tested 5G on mmWave and 3300 MHz (C-Band) in West Bengal. According to the DoT West Bengal LSA, Airtel observed data speeds of 566 Mbps on 3300 MHz and 1 Gbps on 26 GHz during its tests.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber

Airtel also recently launched Airtel Xstream AirFiber, India's first Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution, for customers in Delhi and Mumbai to assess customer behavior and the market scenario.

Airtel said customers can enjoy 100 Mbps speeds with the 6-month plan, which costs Rs 4,794 with a one-time refundable security deposit of Rs 2500. Airtel is also offering a 7.5 percent discount on half-yearly subscriptions, bringing the six-month service price to Rs 4,435.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber is a wireless internet service powered by 5G Technology, i.e. Airtel 5G Plus. Xstream AirFiber is a plug-and-play device with built-in Wi-Fi 6 technology that offers wide indoor coverage and can simultaneously connect up to 64 devices.

According to Airtel, the Airtel Xstream AirFiber solution will provide Internet to consumers in fibre-dark areas, enabling last-mile connectivity in both rural and urban areas in India, where fibre infrastructure is a challenge.

Airtel 5G Services

Airtel's 5G service is available in over 5000 cities and towns across the country, and the company has surpassed the 10 million unique customer mark on its 5G Network. Airtel says it will cover every town and key rural area with its 5G services by September 2023.

Airtel Unlimited 5G

Airtel has also introduced Unlimited 5G data for its customers to experience the power of the Airtel 5G Plus network. Eligible prepaid plans and all Airtel postpaid plans now come with Unlimited 5G data benefit.
