Backup high-resolution camera images from Lumia devices to OneDrive with Windows Phone 8.1

If you are a proud owner of Nokia Lumia smartphones with PureView cameras and Windows Phone 8.1, rejoice! You can now backup all your high resolution images to OneDrive. Using the Nokia Camera app, you can click dual images in 5MP + 20MP/41MP mode. But while backing up these images, only the 5MP resolution images could be backed up to OneDrive with Windows Phone 8. You would lose these high resolution images if not backed up manually to your computer.

But with the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1, you now have the ability to backup those high resolution images by activating the ‘Best Quality’ option in ‘backup to OneDrive’ settings. This would also save the high resolution images saved to your OneDrive Camera roll with file size of up to 5MB per file. Although there is still no option to backup the DNG or RAW image from the device which usually add up to 20MB per file.
