Broadband subscribers base grow 3% in Feb 2015, Wireless broadband still leads

While mobile subscriber base growth has slowed to 0.86% in February, broadband subscriber base in the country registered a impressive growth rate of 3.05% during the month. Broadband subscriber base increased from 94.49 Million at the end of Jan-15 to 97.37 million at the end of Feb-15. Bharti Airtel continues to lead the market with 20.88 million broadband subscribers. Telecom subscriber base grows to 987.31 million, BSNL registers negative growth

At the end of February 2015, total telephone connections in country increased to 987.31 million from 979.21 million at the end of January 2015. A total of 8.1 million connections were added during the month of February. Tele-density in the country now stands at 78.72%. BSNL Revises Rural General Landline plan, hikes fixed monthly charges from Rs 90 per month to Rs 120

BSNL has announced the revision of general landline plan for rural exchange with line capacity <1000. The new revised tariff will be implemented across all BSNL circles. The fixed monthly charges have been increased from current Rs 90/month to Rs 120/month. Subsequently free calls have been increased from current 90 call to BSNL network to 120 calls to BSNL. Reliance Jio gets new signalling point codes for 9 more locations

BSNL has announced new data STV which offer 1GB 3G for Rs 68 with validity of 10 days.
