Operators against TRAI proposal on mobile internet activation, Why it’s a bad move ?

TRAI had recently come with a proposal which require explicit consent of consumers before activating mobile internet facility. This was aimed at protecting consumers from 'bill shock' due default activation of mobile internet services. GSM Rural Subscriber base increases 1.15% in April 2015

During the month of April 2015 GSM rural subscriber base in the country grow 1.15% to 341.53 million. Total net addition in month of April was 3.88 million subscribers. DoT ask ISPs to implement security measures for ADSL modem within 3 months

PM to inaugurate NOFN broadband under Digital India next month.

As per latest reports, National Optical Fibre Network(NOFN) under Digital India programme will be inaugurated by Prime Minister between 15-30 June. The NOFN project aims to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to 2.50 lakh gram panchayats in India by December 2016. Telecom subscriber base near 1 billion mark, Tele-density increases to 79%

Indian telecom subscriber base is one step away from breaching 1 billion mark with 996.49 million subscribers at the end of March 2015. BSNL reinstates data carry forward facility for prepaid

Earlier we had reported BSNL plans to stop data carry forward facility in prepaid. In view of response received from nodal centers, BSNL has withdrawn earlier order and decided to allow carry forward of unutilized data on data STV recharges.
