Amazon India has silently introduced a monthly Amazon Prime subscription plan of Rs 129, giving an extra option to its customers. Until now, Amazon has a single yearly Prime membership plan of Rs 999 (earlier Rs 499). But the new Rs 129 monthly plan comes with some catches, not benefits wise, but subscription wise. Amazon users can subscribe to this plan only using credit or debit card and the debit card option is limited to just HDFC or ICICI banks as of now. The reason behind the subscription being limited to only credit and debit cards is auto-renew. Amazon will auto-renew the Rs 129 plan at the end of every 30 days using the original payment method. The e-commerce portal also states that it will notify the users three days before the auto-renew date every month. And if a customer is not interested in renewing the subscription, they can head over to the portal and cancel it manually.

Interested customers in subscribing to the monthly Prime membership plan can head over to Amazon app and subscribe it. This new monthly plan will be extremely useful during Amazon sale offers because the company open the lightning deals for Prime members first, at times. Also, there will be Prime Day offers every year, exclusively for Amazon Prime membership users.

If a customer wants to subscribe to the Prime membership using Net Banking or any other mode of payment, they can subscribe to the yearly plan. Amazon did not make any changes to the annual plan and it still costs Rs 999. The newly introduced monthly plan also offers the same benefits of faster deliveries, Amazon Prime Video & Amazon Music subscription along with exclusive access to deals and offers during Amazon sale days.
