Amazon has officially announced the launch of its music streaming service, Prime Music in India. The service can be accessed by users on their Android and iOS devices by downloading the app from Play Store and App Store respectively. In addition, it is also available on the web via music.amazon.in. As the e-retailer announced previously, the music service is free for Amazon Prime customers since it is already included in their package.

The Prime Music lets you choose music in 12 different languages including Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Rajasthani. It also supports offline music downloads of your favourite songs, albums and playlists to your mobile devices.

Furthermore, the app comes with Alexa integration. This means you can tap the Alexa icon on your smartphone support to help you search for music with your voice. The music service is also ad-free meaning users won’t get those disturbing ads when listening to music.

Amazon Prime Music service was initially made available for preview to select customers who purchased Amazon Echo devices in the country. With this, Amazon is all set to give a competition with other music streaming services like Gaana, Saavn, Wynk Music, Apple Music, Google Play Music, Hungama and more.

How to Avail Amazon Prime Music Service?

The Amazon Prime Music is limited to Amazon Prime subscribers only. In order to avail the service, users will have to subscribe to Amazon Prime membership which offers shopping deals, free shipping, one-day deliveries, and a full-fledged video-streaming service along with the music service.

Amazon Price was launched at an introductory price of Rs 499 last year. It increased to Rs 999 after that, but subscribers can avail Prime Music service at “no additional cost”. It sounds like a sweet deal for the price-sensitive Indian market.

The online streaming platform lately tied up with music label T-Series for unlimited and ad-free access to their music catalogue. Subscribers of Amazon Prime Music will get ad-free access to T-Series’ library of 150,000 songs, including Bollywood and regional soundtracks. In the past, Amazon had inked similar content partnerships with Zee Music, Saregama, Sony Music, Tips Music, Venus Music, and Times Music.
