Motorola has finally added Indian support for its Moto Alexa application with a recent update. So the Moto X4 (review) users in India can finally be able to use the Amazon's Alexa digital assistant by enabling the Moto Alexa app on their smartphone. If you're a Moto X4 user, search for the Moto Alexa application in Google Play Store and enable & update it. Now you can use Alexa on your Moto X4, along with Google Assistant.

However, do make a note that the Alexa for smartphones is still in its initial stages and it's far behind Google Assistant. You can find the Moto Alexa application in the app drawer. Firstly, the application will ask you to train your voice to enable the voice recognition feature. Also, do make a note that the application requires a SIM card on your smartphone, otherwise, it won't allow you to use it.

The interface of the application is pretty simple, and after training your voice, you can just say the hotword Alexa, and the app will start listening for your command. And the best part is it's faster than Google Assistant to detect your voice. But the sad part the features are pretty limited at the moment.

You can ask Alexa for weather information, ongoing cricket matches, time in other countries, play music from a specific album, set reminders & alarms, and so on. The application has complete access to Amazon Prime Music and plays music from Prime Music itself. However, it doesn't have support other music streaming services such as Saavn or Gaana at the moment. And it doesn't even open applications installed on your smartphone.

Also, the Moto Alexa app doesn't support additional services such as Ola/Uber cab booking, food ordering, and several other Amazon Echo features. But they might be available in the future updates though.

Also, it doesn't have support for continuous questions like Google Assistant. For example, when you ask for 'Who is the Prime Minister of India' It answers the question, but when you immediately ask 'what's his age,' it doesn't reply to that question though.

This feature is available in the United States, where Amazon Alexa is being integrated to phones such as the HTC U11, Moto X4, and several other devices. Maybe, the support will be added in the next update though.
