Airtel 5G-Ready Network Demonstration: What to Expect?

As noted, India will get 5G sometime in the second half of 2020 or in H1 2021. Almost all the telcos including Reliance Jio are now against the 5G spectrum auction which the government is planning to hold in the coming months. Until the spectrum allocation happens, telcos will not be able to launch 5G services in the country. As for Bharti Airtel, the Sunil Mittal-led telco will demonstrate 5G network user experience at India Mobile Congress (IMC). Furthermore, Airtel will also show pre-5G technologies like Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) and how they will enable Digital India. According to the telco, these high-speed technologies will enable smart homes, smart cities and smart factories in the coming years.
