For a handful of subscribers, the idea of recharging your SIM and forgetting it for a long time seems like a good one. Whereas, for the other customers, they would like to pay their monthly bills on time while enjoying services without interruptions. This difference between prepaid and postpaid subscribers has existed in the industry for far too long, and the pricing between the plans has been the deciding factor. However, with the falling data rates and all the revised plans, the decision between a postpaid and a prepaid plan becomes more difficult. Currently, the telecom operators have very attractive prepaid plans to offer which compete nicely with the postpaid offerings, and these include some plans like the Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 199 and more from Reliance Jio and Airtel.

Rs 149 Prepaid Pack from Reliance Jio

There was a time when the Rs 149 prepaid plan from Reliance Jio used to bundle 1GB data per day for the entire month, and even that was considered impressive. However, now the Rs 149 prepaid plan comes with a total of 42GB data, meaning that the plan ships 1.5GB data per day to the user along with free unlimited calling and 100SMS per day. In addition to that, the users can enjoy Reliance Jio’s host of apps.

Rs 198 Prepaid Pack from Reliance Jio

Similar to the above plan, the Rs 198 prepaid plan also used to ship less data before. However, now the Rs 198 Reliance Jio prepaid plan offers 2GB data per day for the 28 days validity, thus averaging the total data at 56GBs. This plan also offers free unlimited calling and 100SMS per day to the subscriber in addition to the subscription to Reliance Jio’s host of apps.

Airtel’s Rs 199 Prepaid Plan

Airtel’s Rs 199 prepaid plan is yet another attractive offering from the Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator which manages to replace the postpaid plans for a lot of users. This plan also comes with 28 days of validity and offers 1.5GB data per day for the users. In addition to this, the subscribers enjoy free unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. There are a lot of additional benefits in the plan too, and these include a subscription to Airtel TV Premium and access to Zee5, HOOQ, and more, subscription to Wynk Music, Norton Mobile Security for one year, cashback on purchase of new 4G device up to Rs 2,000.

Airtel’s Rs 349 Prepaid Plan

Another high priced prepaid offering from Airtel which users love is the Rs 349 prepaid plan, which bundles 3GB data per day along with free unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. Similar to the plan mentioned above, this one also comes with additional benefits like Wynk subscription, device security and more.

In the Vodafone-Idea portfolio also we get to see very similar looking prepaid plans replacing the postpaid offerings. Especially in Airtel’s case as now the Airtel postpaid portfolio starts at Rs 499 only, these prepaid offers become more crucial. The only upper hand that the postpaid customers enjoy over the prepaid customers is of the data carry forward facility, which lets you use unused data in the next billing cycle. Also, Airtel’s plans are offering free Netflix subscription up to 3 months, which might be another attraction for the users.
