AIRCEL, India’s 5th largest pan India GSM Mobile service operator gives unique opportunity to become 'Ball Kids' to teenagers in Chennai a for India's only ATP World Tour Tennis Tournament, which is sponsored by Aircel Chennai Open 2010.
The 'Aircel Ball Kids' event will take place on December 27, 2009 at SDAT Tennis Stadium. Ten kids from Chennai will get a chance to become ball kids at Aircel Chennai Open 2010 after undergoing an initial selection process followed by training sessions.
Any teenager in the age group of 12-16 years would qualify for the auditions for the Aircel Ball Kids. The event is scheduled for last week of December to ensure maximum participation from kids since schools and colleges will be closed for Christmas and Exam holidays.
Talking on the initiative, Mr. Gurdeep Singh, COO, Aircel, said, "We are reaching out to several schools, colleges and other educational institutions and will be conducting auditions on December 27. The Aircel Ball Kids will have a photo opportunity with ATP players at 'Play the Pros' event on January 3, 2010 and they will also be felicitated on Center Court during the tournament. We have tied-up with tennis clubs, coaching clubs etc. and plan to run promotional activities to attract maximum participants for this honorable experience. This is an attempt to encourage tennis as a sport amongst Kids."
