ACT Fibernet Launches a Long-Term Solution for Broadband Subscribers Who Exhaust Their FUP Limit

It is not uncommon for the broadband users these days to run out of their FUP limits. However, unlike prepaid customers who can just get a booster pack for their prepaid data account, such packets are rarely seen for broadband customers. Sometimes if you are exhausting your FUP limits constantly, going for a higher plan seems to be the only option. However, to fill this gap ACT Fibernet has introduced new flexybytes+ plans which come with longer validity up to 90 days and start at Rs 225 and go as high as Rs 2,500. Notably, the broadband service provider which is highly prevalent in metro cities has been making frequent revisions to its plans before the launch of Reliance Jio’s GigaFiber. Reliance Jio GigaFiber is expected to bring cheaply priced plans in the broadband segment, along with a freemium model which is expected to make a dent on ACT’s market share. So, given the situation, it’s only fair that ACT introduces new plans and additions in its portfolio to lure the subscribers.

ACT Flexybytes+ Plans to Extend FUP Limit

Talking about the flexyBytes+ plans, the base plan starts at Rs 225 with 25GB additional data on offer, followed by a Rs 400 plan with 50GB data. The Rs 600 flexyBytes+ plan gives 100GB of data, and the Rs 1,250 plan gives 200GB of additional data. Lastly, we have the premium Rs 2,500 flexyBytes+ plan which offers 500GB of data. The flexyBytes+ data is valid for 90 days on top of your existing plan.

Also, do make a note that the prices mentioned above are exclusive of taxes. As stated, a user has to separately purchase a flexybyte plan upon exhausting the primary plan’s monthly alloted data. Earlier, the flexybytes used to be valid as per the primary plan’s validity, but now they have a separate validity of 90 days.

On top of that, ACT Fibernet displays the data of primary plan and flexyBytes data in the ACT Fibernet application, making it easier for users to track the data usage. A user can purchase the flexyBytes by heading over to the ACT Fibernet application or by logging into the company’s website.

ACT’s Spot Threatened by Reliance Jio GigaFiber

Recently, Reliance Jio GigaFiber has been making leaps regarding growth and pre-rollout of its services. Now with the help of acquisition of Hathway, Reliance Jio has solved the problem of last mile connectivity, meaning that we can soon expect the Mukesh Ambani led telco to launch its broadband service in India. When the GigaFiber broadband launches in India, it is going to take the Reliance Jio path as we saw in 2016. When Reliance Jio makes its foray into the broadband segment, we expect the telco to bite into the revenue and market share of the already existing broadband players like Airtel, BSNL and of course ACT, which claims a high market share in the tier one cities. How ACT manages to take the beat in the coming months, is yet to be seen.
