As expected, Apple today announced the Special Edition Red colour variants of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones. Like every year, the new Red colour variants are introduced in collaboration with Product (RED) which is an organisation which fights against HIV and AIDS in Africa. Apple already confirmed that some portion of proceeds from sales of this Red coloured iPhones would go to the charity. The same continues this year too. The best part of this year's Red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones is the front panel is black coloured, unlike last year's Red iPhone 7 and 7 Plus which arrived with a white coloured front panel.

The new Red colour variants are also been made available in the Indian market. The 64GB variant of the Red iPhone 8 is priced at Rs 67,940, whereas the 256GB variant will be available at Rs 81,500. The iPhone 8 Plus will be sold at Rs 77,560, and lastly, users can grab the 8 Plus Red Edition 256GB variant at Rs 91,110. However, they will be available in India starting May. Sadly, Apple did not introduce any Red variant of the iPhone X, but the company did launch a Product Red Leather Folio case for its flagship smartphone that will retail for Rs 7,900 in the country ($99 in other countries).

This is not the first time Apple introduced PRODUCT Red versions of its smartphones. But this year, the company has got the colour scheme right. Last year, Apple faced a lot of criticism for releasing the PRODUCT Red versions with a white front panel, but it has changed this year and might account for more sales because Red & Black combination is one of the favourite colour combination for many out there.

Speaking about the availability of both the models in other countries, it will be available to order from April 10 in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and US countries. Apple will start delivering the products from April 13.

The variants will be available in Brazil, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE and other countries later this month, while Chile, Colombia, India, Israel, Turkey and other countries will receive them later in May.
