If low speed internet connections and unrealistic FUP become a bottleneck in your life then it is time to switch to the latest Fibernet. This new technology promises greater speed and lesser outages and is currently available in majority of the Metros. It was initially unveiled by ACT (Atria Convergence Technologies) which pioneered the Fiber to Home technology. ACT stands at number 4 when it comes to the largest Internet service provider in India.

The Tariffs for the ACT Fibernet starts at Rs 675 in Bangalore for 2MBPS and goes all the way upto Rs 4399 for a 80MBPS plan with a FUP of 350GB (Yes! You heard it right 350GB). After FUP ACT has devised something they call as speed breakers which go on throttling the speed as the consumption increases and the good part is it is different for different plans.

ACT Fibernet Availability:

The ACT Fibernet is currently available in Bangalore, Chennai, Vijayawada, Nellore and Eluru. The installation charges stands at a nominal Rs500 and you have to shell down another 2k if you want the Wi-Fi router. If you want to know the tariffs in your region then you can click here and select your city. The downside is many customers have a sordid experience with ACT and are shying away from localized Internet Service providers. We would additionally suggest you to check if your area is covered.

Airtel Fibernet in Bangalore:

Airtel offers the same Fibernet plan in all the Metros and also selected Tier 2 cities. The plans start from Rs 1199 for 15GB and after that the speeds will be throttled to 512 kbps which is not bad at all. However Airtel allows a limited number of connections in a particular locality and the coverage, area wise is lesser than the ACT. Good thing is that Airtel has a combo offer which bundles in some free voice calls along with the Internet usage.
