Vodafone- Budget- AlertVodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service providers, today announed the launch of Budget Alert service which will enable its prepaid and postpaid customers to keep abreast with the latest on the upcoming Indian Union Budget to be announced on July 6, 2009.

To activate one needs to dial *123*123# and has to request for this Budget Alert Service Pack. On activation, the customer will receive budget highlights, updates, trivia’s and all news headlines for a one-time subscription charge of just Rs.30/- .

Alert 1- GLOSSARY:
Term: CAPITAL RECEIPTS include loans raised by Center from the market, government borrowings from RBI and proceeds from disinvestment.

Alert 2- TRIVIA
Trivia: Finance Ministry press employees stay within the building for a week before the Budget, with no communication with outside world.

Alert 3- ECONOMIC INDICATORS
Stats: Per capita net national product, at constant prices: 2006-07: Rs 20734 (quick estimates). Source: Economic Survey of India
