Moto G5 Plus With Snapdragon 625 SoC and 12MP Rear Camera Launched in India; Prices Start at Rs. 14,999

Amidst all the rumors and leaks, Lenovo announced the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona, Spain last month. After teasing the smartphone for a while, the company has now launched the bigger sibling Moto G5 Plus in India starting at a price tag of Rs. 14,999. That said, Lenovo hasn't changed the specs of the phone, and it features the same specs as the international variant.

The Moto G5 Plus is priced at Rs. 14,999 for the 3GB of RAM and 16GB storage variant and costs Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage variant.

The Lenovo Moto G5 Plus will be exclusively sold via e-commerce site Flipkart starting today. Flipkart also has announced a new 'Buyback Guarantee' program, where the company is offering a fixed discount of Rs.7000 for the customers who purchases a Moto G5 Plus and wants to exchange it with another phone in the next six to eight months. So, if you want to a get a phone of Rs. 20,000 in the future, you can head over to Flipkart and choose the phone and get a flat Rs. 12,001 discount if you exchange the phone with a new one.

In terms of specifications, the Moto G5 Plus comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, which also powers the Moto Z Play priced at Rs. 24,999. The prowess of Snapdragon 625 is its battery efficient capabilities. The G5 Plus comes in two RAM variants- 3GB/4GB of RAM and is paired with 16GB/32GB internal storage. The storage on the Moto G5 Plus is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and a GPS chip.

The Moto G5 Plus uses the same 12MP camera sensor that of Samsung Galaxy S7 and the company claims the camera as 'the most advanced' by Motorola. The rear camera also has dual-LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, and can also record 4K video recording. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The Moto G5 Plus comes laden with Android 7.0 Nougat along with Google Assistant preinstalled. The phone has a 3000mAh non-removable battery with support for the TurboCharge technology. Motorola promises a six-hour battery life in just 15 minutes of charge. Along with the Snapdragon 625 SoC, the phone is expected to deliver insane battery life.

However, the Moto G5 Plus will face stiff competition from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 but do make a note that the Moto G5 Plus has a better camera and design.
