Regional broadband and cable TV operator Asianet broadband has revised it broadband offering in the Kerala. Speeds of most plans has been doubled and also increased free data usage on certain plans.
Asianet Limited broadband Plans
Asianet now offer up to 100 Mbps speed on Xperss 4999 plan comapred to earlier 50 Mbps. Plans from Xpress 549 to Xpress 2499 speed has been upgraded to 50Mbps on FTTH/DOCSIS 3.0 and up to 10 Mbps on DOCSIS 2.0. The speeds for plans Xpress 149 and Xperss 249 has been upgraded to 20 Mbps and 10 Mbps on DOCSIS 3.0 and 8 Mbps and 5 Mbps on DOCSIS 2.0 respectively from current 4 Mbps. Free data usage on Xperess 549 has been increased to 7GB from earlier 6GB and Xpress 249 now offer 2.5GB instead of 2GB earlier.
Asianet Unlimited Plans
Asianet has withdrawn its true unlimited plan Xpress 510 and Xpress 450 which used to offer 1 Mbps and 700Kbps speeds respectively. New plan Xpress 520 offer 2 Mbps up to 2.5GB and 512Kbps beyond 2.5GB. Xpress 690 plan now offer 4Mbps up to 8GB and 700kbps beyond 8GB. Similarly Xpress 830 offer 5 Mbps speed up to 10GB and 700kbps beyond 10GB. Speeds for unlimited dart plans has been increased up to 50 Mbps with post FUP speed up to 1.5 Mbps.
Asianet have managed to upgrade speeds on its broadband plans without any hike in tariff. Now most limited plans from Asianet offer average speed of 50 Mbps if you are ready to buy DOCSIS 3.0 modem. But its unlimited plans post FUP speed are still very low compared to the high speed it offer on limited plans.
