Finally India’s 2nd largest GSM Mobile service operator Vodafone Essar joins the bandwagon of Roaming at PER Second.
Vodafone today slashed its roaming rates by nearly 55% and now Vodafone Prepaid GSM mobile customers who enroll into the Vodafone Ticket plan will be now charged at 1.5 paisa per Second or 70 paisa minute(Two Diffrent plan) for all incoming and Outgoing calls while on roaming with in Vodafone Network across India.
Vodafone introduces 2 tariff plan Ticket Plan(PER Second) and Travel Plan(PER minute). The Ticket Plan offers Local and STD outgoing calls to any mobile and Landline phones across India while roaming at 1.5 paisa per Second and Vodafone Travel Plan offers 70 paisa per minute for all Roaming callings.These reduced roaming tariffs spells huge benefits of approx up to 55% for all Vodafone mobile users enrolled under the Vodafone Ticket plan or Travel Plan.
Vodafone Prepaid mobile customers wishing to avail this benefit will be charged a Plan enrolment fee, which gives an incoming validity of one year. Customers will continue to enjoy these tariff benefits as long as they have incoming validity.
Vodafone Says “With National Roaming rates dropped, call your loved ones and say “hello” while you travel on one of the most extensive roaming networks in India with coverage in more than 1000 towns & cities across the country. So you´ll never lose touch.”

Hello Sir, i have a vodafone number of delhi. As i want this number to use in andhra pradesh. As i know roaming charges will be activated. Can i know there is any good idea to reduce the roaming charges or there will be a good offer to know that bsnl network is very good in roaming. Can i change the network in AP from Vodafone to Bsnl ? or should i change in the delhi it self from Vodafone to Bsnl ?

hello sir one of my friend s going to andhra pradesh for 3 months, so he have karnataka sim, so how sould he reduce the call rate
Ramnik Mongia July 6, 2011 at 4:19 pm
Vodafone should reduce roaming charges flat to max 30paisa per min or 1/2 paisa per min.
BEST FOR ROAMING IS TATA CDMA. Only prob with TATA is that u don’t get choice of hand sets . If companies start making good handsets people will shift to TATA. I have tow connections . One is TATA & other is VDAFONE.
Best way to capture the max share in the market is REDUCE ROAMING CHARGES .
Abhijit April 25, 2011 at 7:29 pm
BSNL is right choice if you are from Vasai but new connection should be taken.. and also port your existing Mumbai Vodafone number to other operators like Airtel, Aircel,Uninor, Tata Docomo , Reliance to avoid roaming in Vasai (i.e in Rest of Maharashtra circle)
PD April 25, 2011 at 6:42 pm
S
Consult friends and colleagues and take note of their practical experience. In my view, if your stationed permanently (or maximum use)beyond the Mumbai’s limit, better go for bsnl.
V.K. Nair April 25, 2011 at 5:34 pm
I have a connection from Mumbai, but I use it in Vasai. Every month I pay substantial amount towards roaming charges.
Please advise how can I save the roaming charges.

tell me tha roming plans .so i can save balance in hryana
abhijit December 20, 2009 at 1:34 pm
This plan is rubbish at least for Kolkata circle users. STD still cost @Rs1.5 per minute. But BSNL is all flat just 0.49 paise per minute. SO THE RATE WHAT BSNL HAS BEEN DECLARED WILL CREATE WAR AMONGST THE TELCOS. ALL COMPANIES MUST HAVE TO WILLINGLY FORCEFULLY REDUCE THEIR RATES WITHIN FEW MONTHS.

ABHISHEK December 3, 2009 at 12:28 pm
@amit
if u want that stay ur money in indiain the age of globalization….then u must go for BSNL….its a govt owened company….ur money direct goes to govt….noy any via like reliance or vodafone…..aur indian govt reliance ho or vodafone sab k liye tax ek hi leta…ei to nahi hai vodafone k liye kam aur relaince k liye jada….aur paisa sab uk chala jata hai…….take a bsnl..then you understand….what is called network?????
ABHISHEK December 3, 2009 at 12:21 pm
@amit
bhai paisa koi baaat nahi hai…..i will go for a better service with a good tariff….realiance ka tariff acha hai but uske network abhi vi faltu hai….ek aam admi must take a mobile for his necessity not for style(in case of india)….if u dot get a phone call….who take the responsbiity for that….r tum sure ho paisa uk jata hai…..tab ham bol sakte hai tata docomo….docomo is a japanese company…tab uska adha paisa japan jata hai….
Sayantan December 3, 2009 at 9:56 am
@amit
U seems to be the Gandhi of this century!
“Don’t use uk mal”-r u mad?If uk company gives better service than indian company then why should we go for indian company.A good service is always welcomed irrespective of it’s source.Then why Dove soap is famous than Lifeboy?Why Nokia is better than Simoco/Geepee?Why authenticate higher standard books r from foreigns than indian books?Why do u use Google/Yahoo search rather than Guruji search?Why u use to see UEFA/FIFA cup when Mohanbagan-eastbengal football is also being telecasted at the same time?
Don’t speak loose things.
Sayantan December 3, 2009 at 9:47 am
@ABHISHEK
I agree with you.Reliance will either increase the rate to survive or it will diminish network quality further to reduce cost or it will be out of market.
amit December 3, 2009 at 9:47 am
Bhai avishek tumare ass bahut paisa hai vodafone ko de ne keliye. India ke amm admi ke paas itna paisa naki hai. sara mal to UK chala jata hai, indian company use karo. indian company ko uthne ka chance do. UK wale hamlogoko 200 saal se looth rahe hai.

vai ei sib sala…..mat use koro…..i do not where u stay in kolkata….but if u take a general servey about reliance tower & network….i think u will get the right answer…..tata or reliance….vodafone is the best network in kolkata & they will be best…..they come here to do business & giving a better service to the people of india….they do not open any charity for people….today rilance give low tariff….but in long run a profitable company can survive……

how can vodafone giving 40 paise local & std to all networks in bihar ?
sonam December 2, 2009 at 11:29 pm
Why plan charges and tariff are diffrent in verious circles?
Rudra December 2, 2009 at 11:00 pm
NOT SO MUCH GREATER AS RELIANCE,AS THE ROAMING RATE ARE SAME AS IN YOUR HOME PLACE,!!!!!
Rahul Barik December 2, 2009 at 10:03 pm
bhikhari reliance nahi airtel hai. Paisa nahi hai uske paas thts why they r nt able 2 lower d cl chrge. So they r charging more for whtevr crap services they r providing. And ntwrk is getting worse day by day.
Avishek December 2, 2009 at 9:52 pm

Good astrology service free of cost…..but totally fake…no one knows about future…..

Idhar pe koi tumhara “Sala” nehi hai….dont use slang language…& “”Jelous of smart”….Bhikhari ke upor jelous…its interesting…
Rahul Barik December 2, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Sala abhishek jhut bola. D opposite thing happens vt me. I dnt get tata tower inside my home. Bt smart always gives full tower followed by voda and thn idea. Even airtel gvs average tower. Bt in my home bsnl gvs bst tower coz m hvng bsnl tower on my roof. And smart network is enough in kolkata. If sm1 tls tht there is no tower thn he is jealous of smart. Thts why. Reliance is far better than tata and aircel.
Sanjay Bafna December 2, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Still they did not announced this for Gujarat Circle.
Sagar December 2, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Where is Gujarat ? can any one tell what is the charges for GUJARAT circle?
kaushik December 2, 2009 at 4:34 pm
@Saikat C
I think in future only Reliance,TATA,Vodafone ( if they wish ),Idea,Airtel will survive in India.
Aircel,LOOP,MTS,Uninor,Etisalat,Videocon will be out in 3-4 years
BSNL & MTNL – Govt knows whether to retain them or sale them
Saikat C December 2, 2009 at 3:47 pm
You are quite right and pretty close !
In GSM technology, tell me 3 names who are worth the salt. Airt…, voda.. then ?
Even six months back we did not have a 3rd real good operator in GSM on National level in terms of QoS and cust. service & grievance redressal.
The rules of the game is changing. If docomo and RCL sets up a real good network (RCL already pretty close to it ), then we are going to have a whale of a time !!
Dipankar December 2, 2009 at 3:33 pm
because Reliance & TATA started with CDMA service
if they started with GSM service like now from begining all over India then Airtel was no where in market
so u can say Airtel is pretty lucky
Deb December 2, 2009 at 3:30 pm
because Airtel spread their network in 23 circle far ago than vodafone,smart,aircel.
Prasath J December 2, 2009 at 3:12 pm
See, for the last 3 months they are not FIRST in number of new subscribers added…
Saurabh December 2, 2009 at 3:01 pm
yes sure.
but the telecom industries were hust minting so much of money out of sms which actually costs them less than 1 paisa.
but since one industry has reduced the rates in the market, the other industries follow too.
it is a general trend seen in a market and soon there is so much of price war going on right now i believe to maintain the competition and hierarchy the industries would certainly reduce the rates.
call rates are to be believed to go below 30paisa/minute or its per second version.
this revolution would be started by 2010 Feb or March.
Till then we would have to be settled at a price of like 60p,30p per minute.
and i dont think sms would go cheaoper than 1 paisa.
mukul December 2, 2009 at 2:29 pm
nahi dada…i will be really suprised if any new operator would ever enter Indian cellular telecom market again !!! you will see in the year 2010 that next year there will be 12-13 operators and inadequate food for them, so they will fight like made and in the year 2011 some will be dead or on the way out. so after 3 years, there will be maximum 5 to 6 operators left. they would have lost so much of profi opportunity by that time that they will form a cartel and ensure that prices wont drop any further. i dont think prices will fall any further after year 2010.
denny007 December 2, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Hey its due to ppls cant change the no immediately as they are using for long time. We need to check who’s No .1 once MNP comes…
Saikat C December 2, 2009 at 2:02 pm
@Fahad
Ha HA !. Dont know. But Sharukh says in Airtel ad : Jab 110 million log sath hon, to achcha hi hoga !
Are they reassuring themselves ? :-O
ABHISHEK December 2, 2009 at 2:01 pm
@Rahul Barik
reliance is 3 years in kolkata…..even they giving a worst network in kolkata….you do not get network in the room…..if u do not make a call or get a call properly…..so what the use of it???? AAM ADMI k sasta hai but if u do not get a uegent call becoz there is no network…so just through it….reliance sab se pahele network thik koro…uske bad tariff war pe utro…..tata is very good than reliance….but they do not have superior network like vodafone…..airtel is a big asshole…
Fahad December 2, 2009 at 1:27 pm
@Saikat C
retailers ko jahan se zyada milega na woh wohi se bhage ge…i mean due to offrs gvn 2 thm(retailrs) by airtel
Saikat C December 2, 2009 at 1:22 pm
@Dipankar
If people are so disgruntled with Airtel, why they are still No.1 ? Any guess ?
Fahad December 2, 2009 at 1:18 pm
Airtel is in endagered list
Rahul Barik December 2, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Sm1 said that reliance smart gsm is giving low rates coz itz new. Bt dude smart is almost 3 years old in kolkata and it has d lowest cl charges. And after 2-3 years they will further drop d rates and vodafone and airtel will b jst spectators coz they wont b able 2 do that. And dude reliance is d pioneer of indian telecom. They dnt provide superb network bt wht they provide is more than enough. Many people cnt afford voda, airtel or idea. So they vl definitely go for reliance smart. Reliance is “AAM ADMI KA CONNECTION”. Its like “MAA MATI MANUSH” for indian telecom. And smart also gives std at 33p. Who vl gv ths low cl charges? And bhai sahi hai airtel sucks. Its d biggest asshole. Even bigger thn aircel. Bt in gsm voda has d best cnnectivity. And in cdma its mts. Superb network and lowest cl charges. Plz launch mts in gsm.
Dipankar December 2, 2009 at 12:17 pm
there is MNP , so after 3 years again changed to some cheap operators
Dipankar December 2, 2009 at 12:15 pm
only in bihar not other 22 circles
Dipankar December 2, 2009 at 12:13 pm
Airtel is good no doubt but vodafone catching them really fast
also Reliance GSM coming up very well,after 1 year RGSM will be very competetive
Dipankar December 2, 2009 at 12:09 pm
thats why i dumped airtel and taken vodafone postpaid connection
i have to travel extensively all over india and in some circles like kerala,haryana,UP(w),Gujrat Airtel network is not good in some places and i cant log on to other network like idea,aircel,reliance,vodafone
now with vodafone in roaming i can select any network including airtel
so whether vodafone is there or not i can use vodafone very easily plus vodafone network improving day by day
mukul December 2, 2009 at 12:05 pm
if a mobile operator does not have good network to offer, what is the point ? if telenor today prints a brochure with rates of 25 p per minute for std and local, what is the value it will have ???? nothing. you are banking on these new guys…they will offer low price BECAUSE they do not have network. take my word, see this same docomo and reliance gsm after 3 years. they will raise the price once their network is properly in place. saste mein to kachra hi milega. achhi chee hamesha thodi mahangi hogi… can you give me any other example of an established industry where the best quality product is available at the lowest price ???
kaushik December 2, 2009 at 12:02 pm
@Fahad
Sunil Mittal once says By 2011 airtel will be the biggest and trusted brand in India
now it seems by 2011 Airtel will be out of telecom market in India
Fahad December 2, 2009 at 12:00 pm
Ofr is betr nd convenient yaar…
U rock voda even in mumbai it is very cheap than reliance….
You rock
Fahad December 2, 2009 at 11:55 am
@kaushik
so be prepard to send airtel back to singapore ….
kaushik December 2, 2009 at 11:54 am
Vodafone in bihar local & std 40 paise
cheap than reliance
kaushik December 2, 2009 at 11:47 am
Airtel thinks they are the BAAP of telecom in INDIA,thats why they wont roam with other network.
In case if in roaming there is no airtel network but vodafone,idea etc are available still u cant logon to their network
On the other hand vodafone,idea still depends on other network as well as own network on roaming
Saurabh December 2, 2009 at 11:17 am
Vodafone, Airtel and Idea are assh0les.
They won’t reduce the rates as low as Reliance and Tata Docomo.
The rates would be low but they would surely more than reliance and tata.
Sms rates haven’t gone down since a week after Reliance introduced 1 paisa schemes.
The only problem with Reliance GSM is its network.
Apart from network Reliance truly rocks.
On the other hand Vodafone and Idea have superb network in Maharashtra.
But Airtel seems to be a bigger asshole than vodafone and idea because it does not has good network and still it charges more.
So go for Reliance.
On the other hand 5 more new companies are launching their services like Onida, Aircel etc.
So we would certainly see a drop in call rates and sms as we’ve already experienced it through Reliance.
Saikat C December 2, 2009 at 10:43 am
Quite disappointing !
Ram December 2, 2009 at 9:18 am
I think, this plane is not suitable one for all. In privies days incoming call charge is 1Rs/min, now it will become 0.9Rs/ min. So there is no loss for the company.Only deference is 10p.
When compare to all other network, Reliance is best. The Reliance is offering 1p/s (60p/Sec) in home network and roaming also. Same like Reliance offering 1p/SMS in home Local/ National/ roaming (recharge with 11rs) and full talk time (recharge above 75rs). When compare to all other network, reliance is best. Once number priority option comes, most of the people will shift to other networks.
One small request to reliance is “have to improve the Coverage” otherwise reliance is best network (at present- all the aspects like cost wise, connectivity, free colour tune, no extra taxes……..)
Vineet December 2, 2009 at 8:56 am
At this moment reliance all plans (local,std,sms and roaming) are best.
avtarkaint December 2, 2009 at 8:55 am
this time reliance is best
Tej December 2, 2009 at 5:40 am
It means vodafone not reduced roaming charges on other network
Rohit December 2, 2009 at 2:20 am
Poor Business in India.
We Indian Like and Live with Cheap and Best and i am Switching to Reliance in a day or 2 from Vodafone.
No Wonder “Videshi Mobile Company” are kicked like Simon was.
Sahil December 2, 2009 at 12:20 am
GUYS …any idea when reliance will alunch in goa circle..m badly waiting for it.
Sahil December 2, 2009 at 12:17 am
this info is wrng…thr RV is of 74rs ..check the website guys…
Rohan December 1, 2009 at 11:46 pm
Lets kick vodafone doggie outta indian market firangee
Sahil December 1, 2009 at 11:24 pm
this is unfair as the customers might have already migrated to the per second billing plan will have to again pay the charges for this plan. By launching more attractive schemes everyday, all companies are playing a cheap and dirty game
Lucifer@Indian Freebies December 1, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Finally vodafone came with some offer but still reliance is far better with its plan
Fahad December 1, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Definetly thr r 2 plans one per sec and 2nd per min
Vinayak Pai December 1, 2009 at 10:36 pm
@Ashish
exactly. Is it a printing mistake or is there any per minute option as well?
Fahad December 1, 2009 at 10:32 pm
I thnk airtel,vodafone,idea shud cum out wid low rental unlimited plans so that they can survive if they wud ofr thse crap tarifs thn m sure airtel nd vodafone wil be sld out eithr to rcom or tata…hahaha….bt m sure both the operatrs wil reduce thr cal rates widout ne special vouchr
rajiev December 1, 2009 at 10:24 pm
i m delhi idea postapaid user and i m waitin for mnp. i will surely go for reliance.
kaushik December 1, 2009 at 10:18 pm
even delaying of MNP cant save Airtel or Vodafone or BSNL or IDEA from reliance/tata.
Airtel for last 6 months is going either 2nd or 3rd in overall customer addition
these addition of docomo is not only due to offers but also network coverage
wait for 6 months dococmo will be one of finest networks of India alongwith RGSM
sumanth December 1, 2009 at 10:13 pm
mnp is going to be delayed by these b%%^$%^. so lets not rejoice yet.
http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/mnp-likely-to-be-delayed/377922/
Prasath J December 1, 2009 at 10:00 pm
According to Vodafone, its Post paid users are VERY VERY VERY RICH and they do not worry about burning a hole in their pocket… But in real, they are poor (not financially) fellows waiting for MNP..
Prasath J December 1, 2009 at 9:56 pm
They took this much time, to get a new name for the tariff only…!!!
… Vodafone ticket… If they didn’t launch this people will buy ticke for them to fly back to UK…
Roam @ 70p/min is better than Airtel, but as usual much much COSTLIER than Reliance and Docomo.. Then what about POSTPAID users???? Most people who roam regularly are POSTPAID users only… VODAFONE once again proved that its POST PAID CUSTOMERS are
… You all know what I meant, right….
So only BSNL is left out to reduce the roaming rates… And I am sure, Idea will follow and even Aircel also possible…
kaushik December 1, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Plan enrolment fee is different for different circles
they should charge an unique price for all circles like reliance or docomo
ved bias December 1, 2009 at 9:52 pm
I think this plan will wrk only for prepaid customers…… and wat abt the postpaid customers……
Ashish December 1, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Please get your mathematics right 1.5p per sec makes 90p per min
MANDEEP December 1, 2009 at 9:19 pm
this is the unfinished and poor copy of reliance or tata docomo because these companies are giving calls at 1p /sec to all network while roaming but better and cheper than airtel.
Denny December 1, 2009 at 9:09 pm
I don know how many enrolment fee we need to pay for this fellows. I hope once MNP comes they need to go back to UK.
So none of the operators are ready to reduce their sms rates apart from Reliance.
Waiting for MNP !!!!!!!!!!
Fahad December 1, 2009 at 9:00 pm
Betr than airtel……
Fahad December 1, 2009 at 8:59 pm
Wow the plan is mindblowng for a vodafne custmr …bt wat abt f**king sms charges wen wl u reduce that…plan z awsum bt sms chargs r faltu…
naveen December 1, 2009 at 8:53 pm
hahahahaha, ask the DoG of vodafone to catch up with Reliance or it will miss the bus, AIRTEL and VODAFONE CUSTOMERS GET READY,,, U ARE GOING TO GET BUSTED ONCE NUMBER PORTABILITY COMESSSSSSSSSS INN. DO SU SU in ur pants, JAIIIIIIIIIIIIII HOOOOOOOOOOO RELIANCE
