Vodafone, India’s second largest GSM Mobile service operator, announced the launch of exciting low-cost tariff offer for its prepaid mobile services users in Mumbai and Maharashtra-Goa telecom circles.
Not a Surprise, It is MNP Season! Vodafone is already set with MNP by launching a Dedicated Web-page and Media Campaign, Now Vodafone in a latest move has now chosen to delight its prepaid users by offering some cool tariff as well as to attract or grab more and more subscribers from other operators.
Now,Vodafone’s new prepaid customers in Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa circles can talk affordably for as low as 30p/minute on any local network across Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa. While STD Calls will cost 50p/min. All the benefits comes with the new FRC-59 which cost Rs.59 and comes with core talk time of Rs.40. The local tariff; at 30p/min will be valid for first 3 months, after 3 month V2V local calls will be charged at 40p and V2O 50p/min.
The Existing Vodafone Prepaid subscriber will get the same benefits of all call @30p/min by Recharging of Bonus Card-24 which comes at Rs.24 with tariff validity of 30 days, available on e-top.

After reading this news report on Vodafones new tariff, I am shocked and disappointed at Vodafone’s sly marketing ruse of selling the old tariff on a new sim. I have recently been to the Vodafone gallery where the mobile assist has told me that the tariff is 1paisa per sec or 60 per min, with no special benefits from V2V, etc. To top it all, instead of waiving the Rs 19 for my switch over to Vodafone from Loop (something all service providers are doing to grab new customers), he actually charged me Rs 19 twice for having to re-apply for a Vodafone sim when Loop rejected my request to port (but subsequently allowed it)! Vodafone, if you read this, please instruct your sales-people to be a little more honest and transparent. It wont pay to earn a bad name so early in the game!

Yes i do agree Vodafone is no.1 network in Mumbai And Maharashtra.Idea is no.2 in AP as far as i know there is no offer for 30p/min till now. yes i agree that MNP has changed everything they are launching good offers on Pan -India basis. so not a problem

Now Tata Indicom also has Rs.24 recharge for Mumbai in which per minute users will get 0.30ps/min and per second users will get 1ps/2sec for 30 days for local calls… Even Airtel also launch 0.30ps/min scheme for Mumbai circle with Rs.26 Recharge with 30days validity.. Loop also launch Rs.39 recharge in which all local calls at 0.30ps/min for 60 days.. So now Worst Reliance is remaining who don’t any 0.30ps/min scheme!!!

Arjun this was same case with me when i was using idea 1 year ago. U knw wat i was one of the loyal customer of idea and was using it at the time when spice telecom was present, my monthly usage was more than 600rs.
but idea never cared for tat and kept on changing my tariff withot my notice and cc used to behave in such a manner tat mistake was mine.
so now i think many times to port to idea again. though uninor is poor in coverage but it is loyal optr

One thing without Optical Fiber Cable an Mobile Operator’s Coverage Will Be too low, Coming to the part of each and Every District there will be a Main BTS Which is Interlinked With the Sub BTS Located at Towns or Villages With Optical Fiber Cable, So that the Main BTS is able to Cover a District With a Good Coverage

dude even i use aircel and never founded wat ur telling. it is not possible for even 900mhz band to cover more than 15kms @the max and tat too outdoor coverage. 1800mhz cant offer for more than 10kms. Tat is the reason why vodafone has errected towers every 10kms across national highways of karnataka. i guess ur phone is showing wrong info. me residing in banshankari 2nd stge cant access jaynagar tower signal which is just 5kms from my place

It is Unbelievable that Vodafone is Operating in 1800 MHz. Past 3 Years Back I Was a Customer Of Vodafone and my Mobile Was Capable to Drag Mobile Tower Signals of Shilangere City and Harihar City Of Karnataka State. And Now My Aircel Mobile is Dragging The BTS Signals of Tumkur City.

everytime when i send porting req msg i get this reply and now my balance becomes 0 becoz airtel deduct Rs. 1 for one msg……
What should i do to get my UPC code ….it seems that airtel refuses to give me my UPC code

Ya. sorry and express regret for this inadvertent ommision . This BC is applicable for only Mumbai Circle customers – with this BC Mumbaikars can call all the vodafone numbers of Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa. @30p min. One way traffic ! This type of “applicabilities” clause are specified only when clarifications is sought! Retailers can recharge all the numbers in the country !

I m Maharashtra Vodafone user having lifetime card.. I called yesterday 3 times vodafone CC and also today 3 times but they confirm that Rs.24 BC gives Rs.1.20/3min for all local & Std calls for 30 days… Yesterday I ask PD to confirm it again he stick to 0.30ps/min only…
But today I personally recharged with Rs.24 e-top and got Rs.0 talk time and got activated Rs.1.20/3min scheme for all local & Std calls with 30 days validity…
So Above Scheme Wrong For Maharashtra & Goa circle…

Any body frm maharashtra circle has rechg with rs.24 bc! What offer have been got then! 0.30ps/min or 1.20/3min scheme? Mine also lifetime card. But if i send ACT 24 TO 144. I get reply as incorrect keyword. And CC is telling that you will get rs.1.20/3min scheme for all calls for 30days. So should I take risk by doing rs.24 rechg then? If not 0.30ps/min then 1.20/3min is sure scheme i will get. So 0.40ps for min then..

Mine also lifetime card.. Mine is Maharashtra vodafone card. Is your card of Mumbai circle? @ PD. As vodafone is taking roaming while in mumbai. So i use dual sim phone while in mumbai using idea all lcl at 1p/2sec @rs.32/mnth. And vodafone while in rest of maharashtra. So all at 0.30ps now in vodafone also.

I have tried myself by charging Rs. 24/- & got what has been stated in the post ! This can be done only by E-top and applicable certain validity plans only. Also one can activate by sending SMS from their number – ACTspace24 to 144 and to deactivate SMS – DCTspace24, again to 144 !
But remember if done thru SMS, one is paying more than Rs. 24/- (deduction will be made from your accrued balance which is in fact – after paying tax!!!!!!!). But, I think, by this way, u can check your number’s applicability yourself, too – The process will be successful only if eligible ! What an !dea ……..

Man,Tata Docomo is the worst operator in Karnataka. Even The Signal is Just 2 Bars low you Can’t Make a Single Call. Say If You Make a Call From TATA Docomo to Anyone of The Operator Say AirTel, It Will Not Connect But Shows Network Busy. If actions are of any indication, then, most of the operators have awakened from their indifference towards the hapless customers ! Of course, in view of the Damocles Sword (MNP). Therefore, in my view, bear with them and put them on acidic test for few more days and what ?…. In this way one can prepare (a/c balance management !)for porting-out !

tata docomo also provides cheap tariff… in kerala they r giving 1p/2s offer for many subscribers for free.. also for 149rs recharge they r providing 900min T2T and 900min T2O….

Yes, it is, but as mentioned in reply to @Raghu, be careful! The best way is to go to an E-top retailer of your locality, in Mum/Mah/Goa, of course, and ask him to find out whether this Rs. 24 Bonus Card (BC) is applicable to your number or not. As for vodafone, I am sure that the e-top retailers have their own channel of toll-free helpline to cross check the utilities of BCs. Also from the vodafone number just key-in ST BONUS and send to toll-free number 111 and you will get the current status of BC(s) that you are using !

Videocon is not going to sit simply & watch there are now in Coverage Expanding Mode, Nobody has ever yet challenged their Tariff yet. I get 5 bar Coverage even in Indoors which even Vodafone couldnt give.

I think Videocon is the best of all in all scheme.i would not be wrong if i tell “the baap of all scheme” coz they just made 25 paise per call across india in any network for local & STD,just by recharging Rs.17 per month.But the drawback is only that,it is available only for mumbai customers n coz of tht i am enjoying this tariff.Better take extra 1 phone just to call from videocon…. cheers….

Now they should remove the roaming charges if Mumbai circle Vodafone users roams in Rest of Maharashtra circle and same vice- verse for Maharashtra Vodafone user while in Mumbai circle….

yes mine is valid point TRAI/DOT have to look into this and also customer care being charged.the customer calling being charged is totally uncalled for.Till date DOCOMO is not charging for Customer care and Reliance also gave free for some time and now they have also started charging 50p/3 mins.

True. Raghu, not only that, please be understood that when a new Bonus Card or special voucher is used/opted, sometimes the WHOLE tariff structure opted earlier changes. Therefore one has to be careful – talk to customer care (beware of the 50/p 3min cc ghost !!!!). but can try in ’198′ too! This precaution is very much essential because there are many specific need-based vouchers that could be specially opted by a particular subscriber (most of the cases these option are chosen in response to pesky SMSes) ! In this context your suggestion for TRAI/DOT is valid.

but still roaming charges are high with vodafone unlike other operators. there is no justification for paying 50% more for roaming within vodafone network itself. also there are lots of fine prints in this offer. like 1st call at full rate etc.
also, why are there roaming charges for outgoing calls between mumbai and maharashtra? no other operator does it. its also against trai and dot rules!
vodafone is actually a fraud beggar because of these fine prints and conditions. it does not have the guts, morals or ethics to charge without indirect charges and fine prints! since its network is good (only is certain places and states… not through out india), it thinks it has got license to loot and cheat people of india.
i don’t have any issue paying a premium tariff to vodafone but it should be transparent and competitive and not with fine prints and too costly.
so, its f*** vodafone post mnp.

It should have been 1 paise per 2 second for it to be effective. Currently using vodafone for incoming and uninor for outgoing (198 recharge giving 7000 sec free month)

the customers are not benefitted by this and they are causing a lot of inconvenience to the customer by introducing so many offers which the customers cannot remember all the offers. TRAI and DOT have to look into this to launch all offers Pan India and not circle centirc and Subscriber centric

Yes, it is cheap in all aspects you referred ! But a comparison has to be drawn, in my view. on the basis of wider-presence in 22 circles, if not, in whole circle basis and not on pockets or area-wise wise ! Not between equals and unequals ! Yes, In Mumbai Videocon’s offer has no parallel, but its presence is limited and lacks after-sales services. NO RECHARGING FACILITIES are available thru online/offline/AMT/franchisees, erc. except from its own galleries and or approved distibutor-retailers outlets !.
Please note that though Mumbai itself has a status of a CIRCLE, Maharashtra and Goa too are collaterally considered while terming the phrase “local”. Further take it, I am not vouching for a particular or a cartel of operators!

IDEA VV rs 16,validity 1 year, all local 30 paisa, STD 50 paisa.
S TEL VV rs 16, all local call 1p/2sec and rs 17,all local call 30 paias/min, validity 1 year both.
SO SEE VODAFONE OR ELSE JAN 20 IS NOT A LONG WAY………….

Correct, It is unfortunate that most of the operators and bringing out tariffs which circle-centric, subscriber-specific and utility-based and only to confuse the customers ! This kind of differential tariffs should be avoided at least for voice calls !
