Videocon telecom revises GPRS packs in Haryana

Videocon telecom the regional 2G operator has revised its 2G data tariff in Haryana circle. The Rs. 147 pack which earlier gave 2GB data plus additional 750MB from midnight to 6 AM now gives 1.5GB data plus unlimited facebook and whatsapp. The Rs. 251 pack which earlier gave 3GB data with 60 days validity now gives 3.5GB data with 42 days validity.

Videocon currently holds liberalised spectrum in 7 circles and plans to launch narrow band FD-LTE on its 1800MHz spectrum that it also uses for voice services. Videocon did not participate in the recently concluded auction and plans on selling minority stake up to 49% to an interested buyer and is also willing to give administrative control to the buyer.

It remains to be seen as to what strategy the operators adopt after the merger and acquisition and spectrum sharing and trading guidelines are released by DOT. The telecom sector is in desperate need of consolidation.
