Videocon Brings 2nd Android Phone V7400 in IndiaVideocon Mobiles, the Mobile Phones Division of Videocon Industries launched their second Android 2.1 powered smartphone V7400 in India.

Videocon launched their 1st Android phone Zeus V7500 in September last year, within six months Videocon brings its 2nd android product.Company is also offering 30 mins free local calls to any network daily for 1 year + Unlimited calls to Videocon local numbers free for 1 year bundled with the smartphone.




This offer is valid in only selected cities where Videocon GSM Mobile Services is present.Though some online sites claim V7400 is actually re-branded Huawei U8100, which was shown of in 2010 Mobile World Congress, V7400 does not have front camera for video call.

Verdict: At this price tag Videocon V7400 is considered as NOT a good buy as it includes older Android 2.1 and resistive touch screen. Micromax Andro A60 with almost similar specs is available at Rs 6500. There is no news of upgrade to Android 2.2.

It is expected that no Android 2.2 smartphone will have resistive touchscreen. Samsung has best low-cost Android portfolio including Galaxy 5 and Galaxy Pop which has Android 2.2 and capacitative touch screen. Both are priced below Rs 9,000. Samsung also have better after sales support for Android devices.
