UTSTARCOM-IndiaUTSTARCOM has announced that it has been named the Number one broadband equipment provider in India by Voice&Data magazine according to the V&D 100, Voice&Data’s industry analysis for fiscal year 2008-2009, UTStarcom significantly led the broadband infrastructure sector in India with an estimated 38 percent growth in revenue.

The V&D 100 analysis also estimated UTStarcom’s broadband market share at 29.5 percent the company rankings are derived from exhaustive surveys and market analysis as India’s demand for faster connectivity continues to grow, UTStarcom is committed to helping build India’s broadband infrastructure,” said Vijay Yadav, vice president and managing director of UTStarcom’s South Asia operations.
By working with the region’s leading service providers, and India’s governmental broadband authority, this infrastructure will deliver the most advanced services to Indian consumers.




UTStarcom’s broadband solutions enable deployment of IP-based, high-speed Internet, voice, data and multimedia services over wireline and optical networks. The V&D 100 ranking is the most recent in a series of award wins for the company in India. VARIndia named UTStarcom the “Most Trusted Company” in India in the areas of broadband and IPTV leadership in 2008 and the Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association (TEMA) in India recognized UTStarcom with an “Excellence in Telecom Services and Solutions” award for the company’s innovation and direct impact on India’s telecom market growth.

The company also has Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) contracts with leading service providers in India including Bharti Airtel in Delhi NCR, and with Aksh Optifibre for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in 20 cities across India and with Aksh Optifibre for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (MTNL) in Delhi and Mumbai. UTStarcom has also announced IPTV deployments with United Telecoms Limited in India and with SLT in Sri Lanka.
