Uninor, the telecom operator best known for launching some of the “uni”que value offers for the customers will soon expand its service offerings commercially to Mayanagari “Mumbai” very soon by June 1st week, to be precise on paper date for Uninor Mumbai launch is scheduled on June,02,2010.
Uninor customers from other circles can now roam in Mumbai by latching on to the network of uninor/IND 926 which was under some rigorous testing till yesterday to provide seamless coverage across every part of the city.
Sources also confirmed that, “Uninor is very well committed to provide services which are full of value to its customers and we are positive of scaling new heights in terms of quality, quantity and reliability. Uninor is also all set to expand its global gsm services in other circles also by this June”. Uninor will be operating with more than 1000 towers in Mumbai right from the launch.
According to the sources, Uninor will be launching 6 Special Tariff plans as listed below. The Sim-Kit is priced at Rs. 49 and is bundled with a talk-value of Rs 5. Apart from 6 Special tariff vouchers listed below, company is also thinking of launching its newest tariff option of “Dynamic Pricing” in Mumbai with the launch but it is still not confirmed that when they will be launching it and also “Talk More 29” & “Call More 29” Tariff plans will continue to be a part of its standard tariff option.
Sources also added that uninor will be launching its flagship stores in Mumbai with the commercial launch, the 2 stores which uninor confirmed that will be in Dadar(East) and in Satacruz(West).

If we talk about the value added services front, with “u-tone” customer can download/change UNLIMITED caller tunes at just Rs 40/month (Rs30 as monthly rental + song selection charges as Rs 10).
Here comes the USP of Uninor, with uninor you can enjoy a “REAL LIFETIME VALIDITY” benefit which means that to continue receiving incoming/outgoing calls you need NOT make any compulsory recharge of Rs 200/6 months as followed by other operators.
I personally got a SIM KIT of Uninor as a complimentary to test the network before the commercial launch, the SILVER SIM-KIT looks really funky with some exciting in-kit contents as a pocket calendar, keychain ring and also the sim-kit cover which can be used as a photo frame. Even the network is great, i will not be wrong if i compare network of Uninor with vodafone’s Mumbai network. Hope that Uninor lives up to the expectations of customers in Mumbai!

But its really bad thing for uninor since its ARPU is just 38rs which may hit its expansion plans.. Telenor should make heavy investments to expand its network rapidly & provide quality network with customer friendly plans to gain earning customers.

Now a days operators use cell broadcasting (CELL INFO DISPLAY)to advertise their VAS, earlier it used to display area/town name & it was very useful while travelling during nite time or in trains. Till now in karnataka Airtel,BSNL & Aircel disply area/town names & Airtel & Aircel display area & VAS add alternatively.. Even uninor should do like tat or else instead of displaying ” 20% off on DP” they can display discount along with area name eg “VIDYANAGAR 20% OFF”

you will get a Discount on local calls varying from 5%-60%, if the broadcast message is read as “50% OFF ON DP” then you will be charged “50% off of 50p” that is 25 p for your local outgoing calls in local..!!
n this discount will vary from time to time and will vary between a minimum of 5% and to a max. of 60%…!! discount will always be shown as the broadcast message on your mobile homepage screen!!

Uninor is ready to launch in Pune. Hoardings can be seen and network is live everywhere. Can be seen as Unitech IN when searched manually on Nokia phones.

Uninor has started putting up signages in Mumbai with white background and Uninor Logo. All names will be in Marathi. Probably the launch date is correct but still Retailer have not received sims for doing recharges. Uninor has delayed the launch twice in Mumbai. Lets hope this time they do it on time.

Yes very correct… from last one month no congestion problem even in evening and also GPRS speed is very fast than aircel, idea, reliance even faster than airtel …
In docomo 4 to 5mb song takes just 5mins to download in morning or night period.. i.e 1Mb file in 1min… So using Docomo in Nokia E72 instead of airtel nowadays.. after launching SABSE BOL PACK in which 1GB free every month for 1 year period..

DOCOMO’s network has drastically improved in mumbai i think it is one of the best network and certainly better than reliance gsm idea and aircel i am personally using docomo and m quite happy with docomo lets see how uninors network works and its review would be quite interesting

So I am surely buying Uninor Sim after launching for above Real Life Time Validity Benefits….
As there roaming charges are also less by default if we latch to Uninor network while roaming in other circles without need to do any roaming voucher recharge…
Roaming rates of Uninor if selected Uninor while roaming are:-

Uninor to Uninor local & std @60ps/min
to other mobile & landline networks local & std both @ 80ps/min
Sms Local @ 99ps
National & Rs.1.49
Above rates are without doing any special roaming recharge…

Uninor also launching in Rest of Maharashtra circle in coming June… Here also IND 929 is well ready in most towns & cities.
And Uninor distributor already come up with Advertisement & hoarding saying Uninor is Available here at most of mobile shops at Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, Vasai, virar, Bhiwandi regions also, which has IND 929 live network and are suburbs of Mumbai but in Rest of Maharashtra circle..
