Dear Webly As discussed with BSNL GSM officers In Panzarconi there is no shared site of BSNL Cellone, BSNL have their own independant site which is equipped with Wimax, CDMA & GSM equipments, you are talking about Indus site which is shared by other private ops & have many trouybleshoots to tht site only. BSNL records says that there is no frequently breakdowns for our independant site. Pls confirm if you using BSNL Cellone/Excel Sim so tht we can force them to check it again. Webly FYI Pls Now BSNL Cellone covered Goa state much better than anyo ther operator, private ops are only covered city areas very strongly but they yet until not ready to reach in rural areas. If they need to reach in every part of Goa state they need to share most of the cellsites of BSNL, except of BSNL they never covered rural part of any city. In Goa most of the cellsites are in incopmlete mode only because of public oppose( Health hazards waves) otherwise BSNL will be number one in all sector of telecom.

Not a SINGLE Uninor Store in Mumbai is UP and ready for the SALE of SIM KITS coz many retailers have not been given the e-pin or the balance in their retailer account balance!
Even there’s some BIG Problem in the CRM of uninor, bcoz of whch the Franchisees are unable to activate the sim cards, and also unable to fulfill the needs of customer like in the selection of last 6 digits.
Insiders even tell tht they are advised not to sell any simkits before 4th June!!
dn knw wat policy is this, i hope tht this mismanagement solves asap!!

TURKEE June 1, 2010 at 11:50 pm
@Neal Pradeep
Neal, Revenue is not Overall Profit, Revenue is total amount generated from Sales of products, Profit is minus expenses of any type made by compnay from Total Revenue Generated and “ARPU Average Revenue Per User” simply means that revenue given by customer to a company. Formula is like Total Revenue divided by number of active subscribers equals to ARPU. If you need further clarification, let me know!!
Neal Pradeep June 1, 2010 at 11:26 pm
@kaushik
oh! come on yaar!! its nothing like that n by the way you are right.!! but i was just telling tht ARPU is not calculated tht way, i mean thts not the CORRECT way to find ARPU..!!

MINUSING “ACTUAL AVERAGE REVENUE FROM USER(arpu)” FROM TOTAL REVENUE INCOME OF THE COMPANY IS NOT CALLED AS “actual arpu”, i agree with you that UNINOR has still not broke even but the REAL ARPU means you know wat i meant to say! TRAI does tht so as to provide the details of HEALTHINESS of an operator through its revenue cum ARPU comparison..
i spoke to uninor in this regard, so this is wat explanation i got from them,!!
i stick to my words

@TURKEE

Neal Pradeep June 1, 2010 at 11:10 pm

no..!!you cannot link revenue with ARPU..!! both are different from each other, they cannot be compared because of many reasons, one simple reason i would like to explain here is ..operators who provide FULL TALKTIME OFFERS OR RECHARGES in tht also operators have to pay service tax, n tht service tax is paid by company on customer behalf..n like wise there sre many such considerations, so linking ARPU with the revenue of an operator will be unjustice. REVENUE IS OVERALL PROFITS not just ARPU, WHERE OPERATIONAL EXPENSES ADD TOO..!!

I think the information provided by Neal Pradeep is wrong..According to the http://www.coai.com UNINOR’s total revenue for the JANUARY 2010-MARCH 2010 quarter is 31.50 crore and ARPU is Rs.38.37.
AIRTEL had the highest ARPU for the JANUARY 2010-MARCH 2010 quarter, Rs.173.33

no..!! ARPU is the Average Revenue Per user, its often disclosed if shares of the company are listed in NSE or BSE. But since Unitech Wireless is not listed in BSE or NSE, its not announced that regularly, but as far as i know the ARPU of Uninor till the end of March was around Rs 172.33, which is in line with the ARPU of other operators.

Every company has a deadline from DOT to launch services by a date agreed by both. If companies are sure to delay same, they do a soft launch by placing sims in the market with selected outlets. But they don’t do the activations neither sell them, its just to show the government that they have launched!!
Animesh.Sengupta June 1, 2010 at 2:30 pm
@ Turkee
Are these sims being sold in Mumbai.We could see the Etisalat networks in Pune after manually searching for networks few weeks back but now it seems the BTS have been switched off
TURKEE June 1, 2010 at 2:16 pm
@Animesh.Sengupta
Etisalat DB has already launched unofficially in Mumbai coz their sims are available at selected stores by the brand name ‘Cheers’. I believe whatever Etisalat does, it does it in black, chahe woh bahar se paisa lana ho ya launch karna ho, Kisi ko pata hi nahi chalta ki kab huwa!!
Animesh.Sengupta June 1, 2010 at 2:12 pm
In 2008 it was reported that Reliance Communications is in advanced talks with Orange to bring this brand back to India for their GSM operations.However the rumor was burn to ashes when a bigwig from FT denied any such deal and termed it as market speculation.
Earlier this year it was asserted that Orange may apply for MTNL 3G (Jadoo) franchise deal.FT again discarded this offer as they would not like to limit themselves in Delhi & Mumbai where MTNL is present and also want to explore the 2G customer base as it has the higher penetration rate than 3G.
Whether they would return or not is still a question as Indian Mobile Telephony is already overcrowded with 10-12 operators in each state, so getting a new license doesn’t seem to be a good idea.It is yet to be seen whether they would follow Vodafone strategy when they bought Hutchison Essar

24X7 Badalta Discount Plan’ or Dynamic Pricing plan will offer customers changing discounts on their calls based on traffic on the network. DP rides on sophisticated technology that puts the customer in control.
Discounts are calculated by an intelligent ‘Discount Engine’ that relies on state-of-the-art IT systems to continuously monitor traffic at every tower in the network. Applicable discounts are broadcast to all mobile screens under coverage of that tower and discount at which a call is started is maintained throughout the duration of the call.
Under the ‘24X7 Badalta Discount Plan (DP)’, discounts will range from 5% to as much as 60%, depending on location and time. This discount will be applicable on a standard base call rate of 50 paisa per minute for any local call, Uninor-to-Uninor or Uninor-to-any other operator. This means a 1-minute local call could cost as low as 20 paisa and never more than 50 paisa.
NeaL Pradeep June 1, 2010 at 1:15 pm
On launch day, Uninor connections in these 5 circles will be available at over 85,000 points of sale through 439 distributors and at 81 exclusive shops in the five new circles. This is the largest ever launch distribution in these cities and states achieved by any GSM operator in India.

that is good for instance though new company we get better coverage.

Uninor, a JV between Telenor and Unitech Wireless today launched its global gsm services in KOLKATA Telecom circle.
Uninor today launched its Special First Recharge Offer under dynamic Pricing, wherein if a customer recharges for Rs 48 as FRC, then customer gets the benefit of “Dynamic Pricing” offer for 365 days with Discount on local calls 5%-60% of 50paise/minute and STD calls will be charged at flat 50p/min whereas SMS will cost 25p.
The Sim kit will cost Rs 49 and if you want to customize your last 6 digits according to your choice then you will be charged to a minimum of Rs.100 to a maximum of Rs 15,000 depending upon the type of number. As said before, Uninor sim-cards come with Real Life time validity which means that to continue receiving incoming calls you need not recharge it compulsorily as other operators have that clause of “Recharge with Rs.200 in every 6 months” to continue with Lifetime validity.

All the best uninor u ll really face tough competation, even other operators will def feel the heat whenever a new operator enters the circle, gaining customers is not a big deal but gaining loyal customes who stick to tat operator compeletely & spend money is important, Until & ur future cannot be judged until a customer make ur no as his/her main no. or else same game will start USE & THROW

The way I was expecting launch of Uninor in Mumbai is’nt happening a good way. I can hardly see any signages, posters, buntings etc. Its as if no launching is being done. Till now its clear flop show by Uninor…
Avishek Ghosh June 1, 2010 at 11:55 am
“The Sim kit will cost Rs 49 and if you want to customize your last 6 digits according to your choice then you will be charged to a minimum of Rs.100 to a maximum of Rs 15,000 depending upon the type of number.”………..
Is this option is also available in West Bengal by Uninor?….CC says u can choose last 5 digit,not last 6 digit…BTW is no.choosing available through retailer or we have go through distributers?
altaf June 1, 2010 at 11:55 am
Uninor is also giving mobiles for testing (ZTE crap) and they are asking for network feedback so they will work on problem directly

Then they will definitely compete with Idea & Vodafone.

hardeep June 1, 2010 at 11:32 am
i seriously dont feel they would be able to do anything material in the market!!! ya people who dont even want to spend Rs. 200 in 6 months can definately be their customers, but that will only prove hell for the company in all possible ways!!!!!
