Uninor Mumbai customers who frequent Gujarat now have another reason to rejoice as the operator announced a first of its kind new roaming plan for them today.
Called ‘Roam Free’ the plan will enable Uninor customers from Mumbai to enjoy FREE Roaming when they visit Gujarat; there will be no Incoming call charges i.e. All Incoming calls will be FREE whille Raoming in Gujarat telecom circle, and all outgoing calls and SMS will be charged at a flat rate of 50p/per min.
Being a fast-growing business destination, Mumbai sees a lot of people traveling to Gujarat for business on a daily basis. By introducing this free inter-circle roaming plan, Uninor aims at making movement of its customers to Gujarat hassle-free.
This plan will be valid for Uninor customers in Gujarat and Mumbai on both per minute and per second plans and will be valid on calls going to/coming from any other service provider. When a customer travels between the two circles, the system will automatically switch to the Gujarat Roaming Free network and the customer can enjoy the benefits of free incoming calls.
Speaking about the product, Upanga Dutta – Circle Business Head, Mumbai Circle said, “At Uninor we believe in making things easy for our customers, and we all are aware of the high traffic population that travels between Mumbai and Gujarat on a daily basis. We launched Roam Free for our Mumbai customers so that they never have to think twice before using their phone while in Gujarat, much the same way they would at home. So the next time you are in Gujarat, go ahead and make those calls, whether professional or personal without roaming charges coming in the way.’

Aapka number Uninor se Idea me Port ho gya Kya?
Amit.G January 28, 2011 at 11:55 am
@vinay
Dude the fault is urs b’cos rite from january operators have clearly mentioned in ter website tat balance of previous operator will not be carried forward. so how can u expect tat???
vinay January 28, 2011 at 11:05 am
Mnp hv come but what abt transfer of my previous talktime balance, which vl nt b transferred to me or new operator. So cost of mnp is much higher than rs. 19. I hv balance of rs 300 with my old operator so I vl lose that 300 rs. This needs to b sorted out by trai.
just as wen operators were charging premium sms charges for porting msg, trai came in pic n asked them to treat such sms as normal, same way trai shud get in pic n ask operators to either refund the balance or transfer it to new operator.
Till that time, customers hv to bear in mind that if u want to utilise facility of mnp, then always keep the balance at minimum n dont recharge with more than 50 rs.
Amit.G January 28, 2011 at 9:33 am

singh January 27, 2011 at 9:57 pm
i hope uninor will provide same to up(West) subscribers for Delhi
DB January 27, 2011 at 9:23 pm
@sAm
@ SAM
Are you referring to NETWORK service or INCOMING FREE ON ROAMING service? pls clarify.
>>Uninor is in a process 2 launch pan-India service widin a few days..
DB January 27, 2011 at 9:21 pm
@Raghu
@ RAGHU …
ROAMING INCOMING FREE and OUTGOING at home tariff will happen. Wait 3 months.
Tata Docomo / Uninor will ensure that all other giants are humbled
If people dont believe look back to JUNE 2009 when ONE PAISE/SEC was introduced and ALL operators followed. ** HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF in 2011 **
>> all operators have to launch this offer Pan-India and there should not be any local roaming charges for incoming and call charges for outgoing should be same as in home circle
Praveen V S January 27, 2011 at 9:04 pm
@mumBHAI
Once your porting code expires, apply for new code by sending request to 1900.
You will get a new code.
Simple na.

POOR RELIANCE CUTOMER CARE SERVICE IN MADHYA PARDESH…
EVEN THE CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVE DONT KNOW THE SCHEME OF RELIANCE..
MOHAMMED TALIB January 27, 2011 at 7:30 pm
Can any1 tell when will uninor be launched in MADHYA PARDESH.?
chitranjan January 27, 2011 at 7:26 pm
Further we can also hope that defence will free some more spectrum in Delhi and all new operators will get start up spectrum. But when they will vacate more spectrum is also not known.
chitranjan January 27, 2011 at 7:18 pm
uninor does not has startup spectrum in Delhi. Delhi has currently 11.6 mhz spectrum free and this has to be alloted to docomo,uninor,videocon,etc and 4.4mhz is what is required to start services. So it is clear that in current scenario only 2 companies can get start up spectrum in Delhi. From what i know docomo is first in line and videocon is second,but TRAI wants to give more spectrum to companies first who already have startup like rcom and aircel,this move has been opposed by these 3 companies and due to this fight government has halted giving spectrum as of now. so if govt first gives more spectrum to rcom and aircel in Delhi then only docomo will get spectrum in near future,but if they give first to new playels then these 2 or 3 companies will get spectrum. This has not been decided till now so it is really hard to tell when uninor will be able to come to Delhi. @Avi H

Uninor is in a process 2 launch pan-India service widin a few days..Acc to me dis operator is d best 1 among all d new comers.Really dey r innovativ n cust friendly.

Can anyone tell me when is uninor coming to Delhi NCR???
Abhijit January 27, 2011 at 6:04 pm
Now time has come to remove the roaming charges for PAN INDIA ROAMING by all the operators. Now MTNL Mumbai should learn from Uninor.. Uninor already was giving home rates while in Maharashtra circle from launch now gujarat circle added in the list.. But MTNL Mumbai still just thinking of removing roaming while in Maharashtra circle from last one year but until yet no implementation.
Saket January 27, 2011 at 5:28 pm
Can any1 tell when will uninor be launched in DELHI.?
Saket January 27, 2011 at 5:26 pm
I wish all operator except MAHARAJAs will follow this move…

Vineet January 27, 2011 at 4:56 pm

mumBHAI January 27, 2011 at 4:54 pm
@Sanjay
i wanted to port my mobile to mtnl mumbai from Vodafone. Vodafone claims to reject my request on grounds that the port code does not match.. in spite of me sending the porting request sms from the same vodafone number. i already had applied with the docs to mtnl and got a virgin SIM from them. Another problem is my port code will expire soon.
I need your kind advise and guidance on how to proceed in this matter further.
i want to teach these f@#@$kin guys at Vodafone a lesson now!!!!
Sam January 27, 2011 at 4:40 pm
This is an amazing move. Hope other operators also follow this trend. On other note, Airtel 3G pricing Sucks.
Raghu January 27, 2011 at 4:29 pm
why not for other states ? only for Gujarat? this is too biased. all operators have to launch this offer Pan-India and there should not be any local roaming charges for incoming and call charges for outgoing should be same as in home circle
