This is the highest weekend subscriber addition ever for Uninor.Since the launch of its services, Uninor has competed successfully in all its commercial circles, adding more subscriber than any other mobile operator in India in 2011.

The recent developments have energized Uninor like never before. Over the past few days, thousands of Uninor employees have stormed the market, registering their presence and assuring retailers and customers that Uninor services are continuing.

Bharti Airtel’s 20% tariff hike backfires, registers 7% decline in average monthly minutes used. This is a real evidence that clearly indicates that inspite of adding new customers to its network the mnthly minutes of usage have reduced. And its not a big guess whos benefitting frm this loss and where everyone is getting diverted to make calls.

Only problem with uninor is their network coverage and all things are good .always give extra talktime starting from Rs.150 sometimes extra talktime on small top-up too. You can activate any pack using your main balance.
I am also using Rs.250/month on my uninor no.

There is nothing like brother and sister.
MTNL is different operator and BSNL is different operator.
May be some packs works in MTNL network but private operator are doing much better job that is why top 3 operator of india are pvt firms and even bsnl is not on top 5 operator in terms of customer and income.

MTNL is brother of BSNL. In the network of MTNL all schemes of BSNL work such as 3G data pack, sms packs, roaming call same as in network of BSNL. Infact if you are a subscriber of Airtel you can not avail your sms pack or 3G data pack in network of Airtel while in roaming.

yes we definately need a player like uninor….its services and tariffs are simply v good. if so many ppl r saying positive stuff for uninor then definatly it means something. its way better than voda, idea and airtel in terms of charges. also its coverage is good where ever its available. and whats the prob if ppl r using uninor for cheap tarrifs. customers ka to fayda hi hai. jab tak fayda mil raha hai lelo. agar big operators apni profit ke bare me soch rahe hai to why not we think of our pockets as well. ppl are with big operators only bcoz of their coverage advantage and this advantage will definately go away in a few years. i wish uninor gets even more customers in the coming time so that airtel voda n idea rethink abt their plans.

Patriotism is good. One must love his country.. admit. But did you think about our BSNL babus ? Except in Kerala and some other circles, did bSNL make any success. Their mentality is typical babu style. Burocracy and red-tapism. If this state owned service provider is able to give good service with best quality, will this private players make any success in India ? Many subscribers are surrendering their land line. Many have portd out from BSNL. Who is responsible for this ? Even cable TV people are giving good internet service now. But BSNL can’t give good service ensuring 24×7 connectivity. Let BSNL take pain to prove themselves, then these “foreign” players will start making loss and will run away from Indian market. Till then, we do not have any other option.

Presenting of boosted figures is not a fair business. While looking into the revenue figures published by TRAI it is seen that average revenue per user of Uninor is very poor. It shows that most of their numbers are not functioning and their claim with regard to customer base is incorrect. All are invited to the revenue performance parameters available in TRAI site.

@Anuj Really? People are fed up? Was a poll conducted among subscribers of Airtel, Vodafone and whoever is the third of the three about this that I do not know about? Or is your statement about people being fed up just opinion?

And if people are indeed fed up, I am sure number portability has made the entire process of shifting to another provider rather frictionless. But that does not seem to be happening, does it?

Also, it is a company’s duty to maximise it’s own profits. Let me know if you won’t feel the same way when you possess a majority stake in a company that has massive infrastructure to invest in, maintain and constantly upgrade. If you work somewhere, let me know if you are willing to work for half your salary just so that your company can pay higher income tax.

This talk of subsidizing corporate plans by milking retail subscribers is pure bunkum. You obviously have not looked at the economics of subscriber acquisition. Corporate bulk subscriptions provide reliable baseline revenue. Corporate subscribers ares cheaper to acquire and service. Delinquency is minimal. Billing and collection is cheaper. This is why tariffs are also cheaper.

Now compare that with issues faced by retail subscribers, and the associated costs. Perhaps then you will realise why it makes more sense for retail plans to be more expensive. And even then, they can’t fleece subscribers for fear of competition.

Come on let’s be under no illusion. Uninor invested 15K crores not to make 500 cr loss per quarter (see their quarterly results). The only way they can survive right now is to sell cheap minutes and lousy service. If indeed they want to stay and continue, their only long term option is to up the tariffs just like Airtel, Voda. There ain’t no free lunch folks. Get real and stop rooting for unsustainable things.

I fail to understand what is the problem if Uninor gets more publicity on forums or by positive word of mouth. They DESERVE the rave comments because ordinary consumers are fed up with the cartel formed by the big three. They are milking the poor customers to – A) increase their own profits and B) subsidize corporate users on company paid plans. This and other forums like this give voice to the ordinary user who is paying more and more for less and less – be it voice, data or SMS. The big three pay for full page ads in national newspapers and extract the money from customers, in addition to hiring ‘ghost’ writers to write good reviews about their services. Will look forward to your reply.

Uninor has already setup a war strategy to combat the big hit they’re going to get due to the SC verdict. They’re raising extra funds from Kol/WB circle by hiking tariff and also adding up to the overall customer count; so they’ll be financially backed up and can also show government that they aren’t minnows anymore in eastern India.

Very convenient timing indeed for this news, is it not? But this is hardly likely to put pressure on the SC when it hears the appeal against the earlier verdict. The court is not supposed to bow to public pressure. It will also be pretty hard for the government to extend any special favours to Uninor now. Everything will now run according to the letter of the law.

It is unlikely that Uninor will be able to get out of bidding and paying for the spectrum they want. It does not matter what international trade agreements they threaten to bring to bear on the government, or the amount of positive press they whip up towards the same purpose.

Newspapers will be only too glad to print this news tomorrow, now that they have seen a sudden windfall of advertisements recently.

If there is anything that has been going close to right for Uninor for the past year or two, it has been their high voltage high visibility marketing campaigns. Heck, you seem to be spamming this news story too today with meaningless positive comments. Good work, PR spin and marketing dudes!

Still no operator whether new or old able to give such offer. Not only that their popular plant Rs. 198, 2000 onnet and 700 offnet became so popular that even Relaince, Idea and Airtel is follwing the same. Uninor is making history by giving such plan where old player also have to follow the same.
Uninor is the only player who is giving highest commission to retailer and recharge facility is available to any part of india.
People is always to support good and genuine player not immature player like Vodafone who came with big advertisement immediate next day of supreme court verdict to join their network.
Uninor like serious player has to suffer just because of our worst ever policy and big defaulter who was holding such precious spectrum is benefitted most…….

After talking to colleagues and friends, I noticed that almost all the families have one active Unionor second SIM thanks to its Rs 200 per month offer wherein subscriber can talk on offnet for 42,000 seconds and 1.20 lakh seconds onnent. This will reduce the phone expenses of the entire family significantly. The people are keeping Airtel or Vodafone, especially Airtel, only for incoming as it offers nothing, just connectivity. One can understand the overnight full page ads and unethical caller tune exhortations by the overjoyed cartel members as soon as SC verdict came cancelling the licences of Uninor and MTS

The Possibilities are these that Uninor Will Stay Long in Indian Telecom Sector. Videocon MD V.M. Dhoot Will Be Severly Penalized Coz He is Giving Foolish Statements. About Etisalat DB I Hope that It Will Quit Soon Coz They Doesn’t Having Money To Pay To Reliance and Govt. Just Waste Service.
