Tata Teleservices Limited , India’s fastest-growing pan-India dual-technology telecom service provider, today announced that it has emerged as the Number One telecom operator in the country for the forth consecutive month in November, in terms of new subscriber additions, adding more than 3.3 million subscribers in the month.
The achievement is all the more noteworthy as the nearest competitor managed to add just over 2.8 million subscribers in the same period, a gap of nearly half a million subscribers.Tata Teleservices Limited has added 3,329,215 new subscribers in November 2009 from its CDMA (Tata Indicom) and GSM operations (TATA DOCOMO), put together. In October 2009 too, TTSL had showed a healthy growth in new additions, with 3,867,725 new subscribers being added.
Expressing his delight over the achievement, Mr Anil Sardana , Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited, said: “It is extremely gratifying to emerge as the top grosser in the industry in terms of new subscriber additions, for the fourth consecutive month. We thank and appreciate every subscriber’s faith on us as an efficient service provider—this achievement further affirms our goal to constantly improve and provide world-class products and offering to our subscribers. We have added close to 15 million new subscribers over the last four months—this figure itself is a testimony to the efforts that have been put into making our network and services the best in the industry.

kaushik December 28, 2009 at 1:33 pm

I am using Docomo from its launch. i am from rest of Maharashtra circle. Actually, in case of network, both r-gsm & docomo are same. I like per sec billing for lifetime in home & roaming from docomo so i am with it still now as a primary number. And i use r-gsm & airtel as per my need.
It is true w.r.t all operators mostly with docomo, r-gsm, aircel that all use and throw their sims after wards. even the amount of recharges done are very low. Only a permanent user like me will do a recharge consistently.
the subscriber base is used to increase the spectrum & 3g network only. And, docomo, r-gsm needs a lot in order to get 3g spectrum.
Prasath J December 27, 2009 at 6:20 pm
No new operators can launch services in Delhi NCR, as spectrum of 900MHz and 1800MHz was exhausted and no spectrum was allotted for Docomo and new operators (Incl Uninor, Etisalat, S-Tel, Videocon, etc…)
Avi December 25, 2009 at 5:47 pm
When are you guys launching your GSM services in Delhi NCR?????
Aryan December 24, 2009 at 2:44 pm

Give me some Sunshine
give me some rain
Give me another chance
wanna grow up once again
kaushik December 24, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Uninor is chupa rustam
Prasath J December 24, 2009 at 1:12 pm
In your comment, reliance is correct.. But Uninor has one plan with daily rent of Rs2 and another with call mole$ting charge of Rs0.39p+Rs0.29, if you talk many times, then those charges will be easily higher than the JuiceUp pack charges…
Emad December 24, 2009 at 11:04 am
@Tata Docomo
i also thrown my sim after using balance because there is no onnet offer from docomo u guys only focusing your attention on upeast
and UPWEST circle is totally ignored if docomo is ignoring us than what is special in docomo to be opted i bought reliance and advising to my loved ones to take reliance because tata indicom is also going costlier in onnet calls
docomo Rs.13 recharge is better option in upeast and there are many onnet offers in other circles
but nothing in upwest
if you do something for us than provide any good onnet offer otherwise i said bye bye to docomo
bcoz reliance and uninor is best for us with lower call rates without any so called juiceup packs
samir ghosh December 24, 2009 at 10:13 am
Can Tata disclose the figure of active numbers one month after it is OTAF? Everyone in the trade know that multiple SIMs are bought by a customer as most of the retailers give SIMs at Rs 10 to Rs 20 on which the Talk Time offered is between Rs 40 to Rs 60. Consumers use these SIMs as use and throw SIMs, and operators congratulate themselves by announcing great acqusition figures. Mr Sardana, you must check how many of the newly acquired connections last for more than 1 and 2 month before announcing the figures.
rajiev December 24, 2009 at 9:13 am
after 2 month ur sim will be deactivated by company issued to other. he he he he he he .
Prasath J December 24, 2009 at 9:03 am
This is the case for all operators and NOT ONLY DoCoMo… Further many GSM biggies are said to be making FAKE activations to show net additions more and to get extra spectrum..
Suman December 24, 2009 at 8:11 am
Am not using this sim anymore. Got it for 5 rs with 55 rs talk time and after using have thrown it away.
But good to know that they are leading
Emad December 24, 2009 at 2:32 am

vinay December 24, 2009 at 1:15 am

Tata Docomo December 24, 2009 at 12:47 am
@S.J.B we know that when your account is inactive. Though we are sad to not have you as part of our family anymore. If there is something we could do just let us know
Prasath J December 23, 2009 at 11:14 pm
Wait dear… Tata Indicom is coming with both plans, reduced roaming even in entry level plans and 1p/sec loc/std/roam this month (both are with FREE nice goodies) in all circles except Mum+Maharastra… Next month for mum+mahas launch as TataTele maha is different co from TataTele… And I am talking about postpaid
S.J.B December 23, 2009 at 8:30 pm
I have thrown away my Docomo sim… but they counted me in their subscriber base but how am i suppose to let them know that i am no longer their subscriber…?? So that they get a true figure about their subscriber base…
Abhi December 23, 2009 at 7:31 pm
Really its a phenomenal ride for Tatas.
Hats off to them for bringing new telecom revolution..
Abhijit December 23, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Still Tata Indicom Cdma Operator not have reduce their roaming charges or (1ps/sec scheme while roaming in other states) for Mumbai and Rest of Maharashtra circle users.. they are cheating to Mumbai, Maharashtra circle users….. So go for Reliance Cdma…
Anuj December 23, 2009 at 6:15 pm
By hiking price?! Then do you think users will stay with this operator?
Anuj December 23, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Hey.. I too have no idea where my docomo sim lost. I stopped using it after 7-8 days of use just after launch.
Anked Paralkar December 23, 2009 at 5:29 pm
TATA DOCOMO has the crappiest network.
Anked Paralkar December 23, 2009 at 5:13 pm
TATA DoCoMo has crappiest network – I have heard a lot of complaints about network, sim cards, poor customer service.
TATA’s are taking their customers for a ride.
Think before you go for Tata DOcomo connection.
Nishit December 23, 2009 at 4:48 pm
@samir ghosh who cares about revenue? once ur customer base is strong, u can always have revenue in future.
samir ghosh December 23, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Great show. But why about revenue? Still most of the reports on telecom shows leaders like vodafone, airtel and reliance doing better revenue than TATA.
Merc December 23, 2009 at 4:30 pm
