Tata Photon Plus, pioneer in Wireless Internet EVDO services today launched three new 'Unlimited Internet Plans' with Fare Usage Policy (FUP) on data cap of 5GB, 10 GB and 15GB for its postpaid customers across India.

Recently another EVDO service provider, MTS introduces unlimited EVDO Plan at just Rs999 for a period of 30 days, with a fine print of 15 GB at EVDO speeds and then you can continue enjoying your Internet services, but with a much slower speed of 1X (153.6Kbps).

Following the way out done by MTS, Tata Teleservices brings the same thing to new and existing customers of Photon+. At present Huawei-made Tata Photon+ USB Modem is sold at Rs2399 and if you are committed to their postpaid plans for 12 months, you will get discounts worth Rs200 every month i.e. full refund of your modem price.

Tata Photon+ Unlimited Postpaid Plans:

Plan NameMonthly RentalHi-speed EVDO Usage (Free)Beyond free usageDiscount for 1st 12 months
Photon+ Mega 5GB UnlimitedRs 9505 GBUnlimited usage at 153.6 kbps (1X)Rs 200 per month
Photon+ Power Surf UnlimitedRs 110010 GB
Photon+ Super Surf UnlimitedRs 150015 GB

* up to 3.1Mbps downlink, upto 1.8Mbps uplink

Recent market trends show operators are bringing plans with 'Unlimited' tag which is offering a certain usage limit at high speed and then you can continue accessing internet at low speed. Analysts says that actually a few people require unlimited at high speed without any FUP. But for general users these plans are good, as even if you cross free usage of high speed Internet, you can still connect to Internet, though at slower speed and you don't need to pay extra.

Regarding the comparison between Tata Photon+ & MTS MBlaze's so-called Unlimited plan, MTS is offering cheaper tariff and that comes for prepaid users, while Tata Photon+ 'Unlimited' plans are available on Postpaid customers only, and at higher price. You with MTS can get 15GB high speed data usage and then unlimited at 1X speed (144 Kbps) at Rs999 while same package comes from Tata Photon+ at Rs 1500, and add services taxes on the bill at the end of month!

But thinking about roaming facility over India, Tata Photon+ coverage is better than MTS.
