bhai uski speed isliye acchi kyo ke uske pass abhi users kam hai
jaise jaise wo badhte jayenge waise waise wo Airtel ,idea , vodafone jaisa ho
jayega….yaar wo abhi new player hai aapko chep tariff dekar hi
wo aapko attract kar sakta hai…
Uske paas chief tariff dene ke alawa aur kuch nahi hai
jisse wo customer ko attract kar sakta hai….
Agar Airtel , idea aur Vod
afone chief tariff dege to aap unki service kabhi
use nahi kar paoge….aur jab aap 6 ya 7 mahine ya 1 year tak Docomo
ka network use karoge to aap wo number kabhi band nahi kar paoge…uske
baad docomo bhi apni tariff ko incrase karta jayega….
Agar aapko acchi service cahiye to aapko in 3idots per hi bharosa karna hoga
kyo ke ye jo service , network de sakte hai wo koi nahi de sakta
thats why they are mejor and big networks of india….
I love Airtel aallways jada se jaada kya hoga mahine ke 100 ya 150 rs hi extra lagenge naa…
No matter docomo bhi yehi tariff dega 1 year baad jo Airtel ,Vodafone aur Idea deta hai….
moral of the story Choose Network with the best conectiviti…

GPRS packet-based services cost users less than circuit-switched services since communication channels are being used on a shared-use, as-packets-are-needed basis rather than dedicated to only one user at a time.

Hi Fahad,
Which state you belong to ? Any idea about unlimited gprs (BSNL)in bangalore ?
@Fahad
Shinefire September 28, 2009 at 12:41 am
I cut my BSNL Post paid connection with unlimited GPRS when TATA DOCOMO started offering Unlimited GPRS @95 per month. Now it turns out to be a bad decision, with their Unlimited GPRS rolled back to limited scheme. I never expected TATA DOCOMO to do so. So bad for a startup company to do so. They have betrayed the trust we public has placed in them, now people like me will think twice before switching over to TATA DOCOMO.
Fahad September 27, 2009 at 10:28 am
Aircel is providng the worst eva gprs facility evrywhr..the speed z sumthng like 2-4 kbps..i thnk bsnl is much better than that and also the downloadng speed is more than 26kbps whether it is day or night…bsnl best hai mere liye
ABHISHEK September 26, 2009 at 7:42 pm
Aircel gprs plan are much better tham Tata Docomo..
Agnivo September 26, 2009 at 5:20 pm
@ABHISHEK
@Anuj
I use Airtel mobile office when I visit my uncle’s place in rural bengal. Sometimes I get connected via EDGE (~20 to 25KBps) and sometimes via plain old GPRS (~5 to 10KBps). The place used to fall in the centre of 3-4 equidistant towers, so switched often between them. Now there’s an Indus tower within 1KM (I climbed on it to the top)… will have to check speeds this time when I visit.
Agnivo September 26, 2009 at 5:09 pm
@RDB
Do you want free network? Guess so… Maybe someday you’d see free network which just requires you to read 10 sms/day and hear 5 calls/day – advertisements only! Interested? Oh, a Free SIM card too for reading through 3 ad brochures and signing under them…
And fine print is accepted form of marketing, nothing wrong… In the TV ad a voice says “call 1minute ka ho ya 10minute ka”… you get the picture I guess.
RDB September 26, 2009 at 4:37 pm
when Reliance came up with its poor service in GSM , every1 made it hell. but it’s Tata, a few complains abt its service !!
and Indicom – biggest cheat I ever saw, ‘Pay Per Call’ – ad says pay per call, at the bottom with smaller font there is the main conditions – daily rental Re1, pulse 600 sec etc etc !!
RDB September 26, 2009 at 4:33 pm

Suchisuvra Sen September 26, 2009 at 2:12 pm
I don’t understand Why people are busy with Tata Docomoc when Aircel have good plans.
Sri September 26, 2009 at 1:34 pm
NEVER GO FOR TATADOCOMO and they are doing cheap tricks for marketing in public, they changed the plan now and i talked to customer care that they never had those unlimited gprs plans and no TATADOCOMO person revealed those plans any where for press. TATA si doing unethical practices in india from long time, it is better to avoid TATA in our life. TRAI is a useless body in india seems getting lot of bribes. TRAI put a rule that any plans introduced by telecom companies should be atleast for 6 months after launch. Whats is going on now? TRAI is sleeping? What the lawyers and Bigs doing in india, any one has guts to file the case on TATADOCOMO, come on indians , open your eyes and file and fire TATAs from INdia
Anuj September 26, 2009 at 1:18 pm
@ABHISHEK
Same combination like I have! Nokia N79 & Airtel & same speed as you mentioned! During night hours, usually from 1AM to 7AM, it goes to maximum value that is 37KBps! My location is Pune.
ABHISHEK September 26, 2009 at 12:56 pm
I get download speed of 25-34 KBps on idm and 25-28 KBps on torrent using airtel and nokia n79 at kolkata.there is no match for Airtel EDGE services.AIRTEL is the best!!!!!!!!
Anuj September 26, 2009 at 12:52 pm
@zareef
40-45KBps..! Thats impossible yaar..! With 2.75 G GSM network (max standard India have in GSM) & with class 32 EDGE standard in handset (latest one & deployed on new models), the maximum possible speed is 37KBps (=296.5kbps). EDGE can not offer maximum speed than that!
zareef September 26, 2009 at 12:37 pm
wow its maen my RIL GSM get 40-45 kBps on night time because BST is near to my home its more then broadband… in night time youtube without buffring its garte
Anuj September 26, 2009 at 12:30 pm
@ RDB, zareef,
You guys are right. But speed you have mentioned is in KBps (not in kbps). 1 KBps=8kbps so speed with Airtel EDGE is around 25 KBps (=200 kbps) & speed with normal 2.5G GPRS stands at around 5 KBps (=40 kbps)
2.75G EDGE network can offer maximum of 296.5 kbps speed. Here Airtel, Vodafone & Idea have 2.75G network. During off/night hours, Airtel’s speed touches to that, 37KBps(=296 kbps) which is more than broadband connection of 256kbps.
zareef September 26, 2009 at 10:05 am
RDB i agree Airtel always maintain its speed i ave checked out in Banglore i was getting 20-24kbps… in normal GPRS 4-5kbps
RDB September 26, 2009 at 9:34 am
@Anuj
Airtel’s EDGE can’t be compared with DoCoMo’s network, a lot of complains of call drop, poor connectivity. airtel can offer costly GPRS pack, coz even I, living at suburban of Kolkata enjoy 20kbps dwnld speed. (noted on IDM). DOCOMO shuld upgrade its netwrk 1st, then increse price. quality nahi hai, costly pack value !
zareef September 26, 2009 at 8:04 am
there is no downloade charges in GPRS daypack its unlimited one… i suggest u to check out you getting EDGE or normal GPRS… because normal GPRS speed is Suck…only 2-3kbps

the roaming details about this plan are as follows
internet while on roaming, however, the free usage as stated above for the two packs of internet is allowed only on the TATA DOCOMO home network. If you are roaming within India, then you will be charged 10p/10kb. Check international roaming section in Tata Docomo website
DJSays! September 25, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Well, this revised thing was already there. The 100 MB pack was for Rs. 99 earlier. Now, they have made it for Rs. 95. As it is no packs are available in Mumbai.
Also, I am glad DoCoMo have gone away from the unlimited thingy. Look at Aircel Mumbai Unlimited GPRS. It suckz big time. I’ll gladly pay Rs. 95 for the 100 MB. At least I’ll get good connectivity.
Suchisuvra Sen September 25, 2009 at 10:55 pm
vai Aircel in Kolkata is the best than anyone,giving unlimited GPRS at RS/-14 for 3 days,and 98 for 30 days. What Tata can give us, we are happy to have Aircel who have same service as Tata even better than of them.They have even failed to launch their service in Kolkata before Puja.

Anuj September 25, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Ya its surely to maintain network but unlimited mobile office service was present from years on Airtel unlike the Tata Docomo where they step back it within a week! Further unlimited mobile office is still active for those Airtel customers who are using it from long time. So no cheating at all!
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 8:33 pm
@zareef
Thats worst then. Airtel is neglecting KA circle customers in terms of service support. Only thing is you have cheap tariffs but as you are saying, customer care service is absolutely nothing.

Anuj September 25, 2009 at 8:16 pm

Thats really unfair. But dont talk to CC. These duffers know nothing & not capable enough to handle this type of issues. You should interact with Nodal Officers via email or phone. I request guys at telecom talk, please provide contact details of Airtel Nodal Offices, KA circle.

i wann ask Airtel people from TELECOMTALK that when they are going to give EDGE service in RAICHUR & in All citys of north karnataka
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 8:07 pm
@Sushma
If you compare it with speed you get, then they are certainly good. But now Airtel unlimited mobile office is availabe only to those who were regularly using this service from very early. For all others & new customers, it is withdrawned.
zareef September 25, 2009 at 8:05 pm
they are not ready to listen me.. i use N73 & Nokia 3110c both are edge enable phone but i get “G” symbole on Airtel on rest other opt like RIL DOCOMO AIRCEL VOD is giving EDGE service…. Airtel C.C service getting Sucking Day by Day they only care about big city….

Airtel unlimilted GPRS plans are quite good, and their spped is also good
Shoeb September 25, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Aircel is best.. True Unlimited…
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 7:48 pm
I am paying 750Rs/month(unlimited) on Airtel. Speed is more than satisfactory, around 25-30 KBps on N79 (handset is important as speed depends on class of EDGE technology deployed on phone). Location- Pune.
Agnivo September 25, 2009 at 7:37 pm
@Agnivo
So you just use the “smartnet” APN after recharging with 303? I tend to use 39 recharge for 3 days.
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 7:35 pm
@santipriya
You seems to be confused between kbps & KBps.
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 7:34 pm
@zareef
In Karnataka, Airtel is at no. 1 position by subscriber base. Company should take this seriously as its only 2G network these places have. I think you should contact nodal officer of your circle about this issue.
Agnivo September 25, 2009 at 7:32 pm

Thanks for the speed bechmarks; I use airtel mobile office on daily rental while travelling. However, this time I tend to use RGSM…

Aircel has best plan for Internet 98/- per month. Unlimited surfing & download.
Speed also not bad. Average Download speed of Aircel is 13-20 kbps.
Other Service Provider Plan, Average Download Speed
Airtel No Unlimted Plan Rs- 498/- 1 motnh (1.5 gb) Speed 15-22 Kbps
Vodafone 899/- 1 month Unlimted, Download Speed 15-25 Kbps
Reliance Gsm 303/- 1 Month Unlimted, Download Speed 7-12 Kbps

still Airtel 2.0g network
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 7:01 pm
@zareef
To which circle you belong?
As per companies policy, Airtel have upgraded its network to 2.75G EDGE at all towns having population more than 10,000. Further they are providing seamless EDGE connectivity on national highways. At rest of the places, it is 2.5G or only GPRS connectivity. They are upto the maple with this policy atleast if Mumbai, M&G circle is concerned.

altaf September 25, 2009 at 6:44 pm
wah! it sucksssss ! hell with tata docomo & hell with their services
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 6:38 pm
Unlimited GPRS packs could lead to further lower standards of their network. I remember someone noted that Docomo’s speed lowered in big way after unlimited packs. With Aircel unlimited packs, peoples are getting only 4-5KB/s speed. Whats the use of EDGE network then? At the same time with Airtel’s so costlier packs, speed is around 25KB/s (real EDGE speed).
So I think Tata Docomo is going in right direction.
RDB September 25, 2009 at 6:25 pm
ha ha ! costlier GPRS pack on a poor network ! thumbs down !! docomo sucks bigtime !
Arun September 25, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Cheating people. Intially providing attractive offer and then change it,simply they say reason is conditions apply…
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 6:10 pm
Its a game between quality & quantity. As far as telecom sector is concerned, you can’t get both things at a time. I hope Tata guys are now looking at quality.
Agnivo September 25, 2009 at 5:46 pm
A step in right direction, nothing unlimited cuts forever!! However, was looking for far cheaper plans. (more free data usage, ~Re.1/MB is still too costly)
zareef September 25, 2009 at 5:32 pm
sad
Anuj September 25, 2009 at 5:30 pm
Ha ha..! I am just laughing..! These guys at Tata directly matched up their rates with Airtel! Its even more costlier than Airtel after utilization of free usages. So its clear that they couldn’t manage their network standard after the launch of unlimited packs. Sense it bit inexperiency.
