Any idea about Vodafone GPRS/EDGE speed in Hyderabad?
Manoj Abhigyan June 2, 2011 at 7:02 pm
When the 2G scandal erupted, Tata Group quickly became the poster child for allegations of corruption in the sale of spectrum in 2008.
The going theory in the media, it seemed, was that the group’s cellphone unit, Tata Teleservices Ltd., had obtained so-called 2G spectrum in some underhanded way. Photos of Group Chairman Ratan Tata, a giant of Indian business, were splashed on the front pages of newspapers and covers of magazines.
Now the Central Bureau of Investigation told a special court hearing 2G matters in New Delhi that it believes Tata Teleservices followed all the rules in the 2G spectrum sale. This comes after a months-long probe in which the agency has targeted several other companies and players whom it says ripped off Indian taxpayers to the tune of USD 6.8 billion.
The CBI was asked its opinion during the hearing of a petition to add Mr. Tata to the list of the accused in the 2G case. The CBI said it had checked everything and all Tata licenses are clear and Tata had not received any extra benefit.
The judge today afternoon dismissed the petition to add the names. The CBI’s first charge-sheet in the case mentions Tata as a victim – not a perpetrator – of wrongdoing in the 2G sale. The agency said that other firms jumped ahead in the queue for one type of frequencies, although Tata had filed its application before them and it was supposed to be a first-come-first-serve process.
Tata Group has repeatedly denied any wrong doing in the 2G sale. At the height of public scrutiny Mr. Tata famously said India was descending into a ‘Banana Republic’.
After the lashing the Tata Group got in the court of public opinion, it would seem only fair to track very closely and rigorously what the CBI says about the firm’s role – or lack thereof – in the ongoing case.
Let’s see how the newspapers frame the debate tomorrow. Will they make room on the front page alongside the Baba Ramdev hunger strike saga for big stories with headlines like “CBI Gives Clean Chit to Tata”?
Rudrateja June 2, 2011 at 5:24 pm
@tatadocomo Are you launching 3G in Andhra as virtual network
Amit Gaur June 2, 2011 at 4:36 pm
@Tata Docomo- Now this thing is useless, increasing price in monthly GPRS plan. People use Mobile Internet jut to check their emails nd some limited thing, there shud be a plan with less amount and limited usage…. say 300-500MB of use for a month
Magnet June 2, 2011 at 3:41 pm

Docomo has intoduced a new GPRS pack in Haryana with longer validity period. With a recharge of Rs.99, you will get 4GB of usage for 60 days(2GB/month). If your usage exceeds 2GB in a month you’ll be charged 10p/10KB. On 31st day, 2GB will be credited again.
Shinefire June 2, 2011 at 7:40 am
That means Rs.70/- for 1 Month. More than Rs.65/- pack.
rahul June 2, 2011 at 7:18 am
Tata docomo has just started ghatiapan by increasing cost for end user
deb June 2, 2011 at 6:11 am
docomo suxxxxxxx in Kolkata……poor indoor coverage…..and 2g gprs speed is going to slow to slower day by day……
kingston June 2, 2011 at 12:18 am
they got more subscribers. So they are increasing their tariff step by step. For example with Rs.25 juice up i was enjoying on net DOCOMO STD at 1p/6sec but now they increased that juice up pack rate to Rs. 46
Really unsatisfied with DOCOMO network
kingston June 2, 2011 at 12:14 am
offer still available?
Kapil June 1, 2011 at 11:43 pm
Poor speed of gprs. Also 50%- 60% network. Vodafone idea providing good speed and network. Plans are same as tata docomo. Then why should use docomo. We want network+offers.
Esmail June 1, 2011 at 11:11 pm
Uninor is offering one of the cheapest 2G GPRS data plans, 6GB of data usage for Rs.90 with 30 day validity, and very good browsing speed as there is minimal network congestion..
Magnet June 1, 2011 at 10:23 pm
Hi friends, Currently what’s the docomo’s speed in Tamilnadu ?
Arif June 1, 2011 at 10:07 pm

Rohan Singh June 1, 2011 at 9:21 pm
Docomo : Surfing speed 42kbps and download 2-12 kbps and sometimes in bytes. Uninor and BSNL is good here. And not to forget vodafone.
abhijith June 1, 2011 at 7:48 pm
ha ha ha ha ha WOW …. ALL PRAISED DOCOMO and curesd AIRTEL …. now biggest corporate thief TATA showing its CHARACTER
Jan June 1, 2011 at 7:00 pm
Is this pack available in kerala????
Jan June 1, 2011 at 6:53 pm
Their low-cost & high-speed GPRS packs was the main thing that attracted customers to them…
and when they got enough customers, they changed their colour…
now GPRS packs are High-cost & low-speed….
its better to port out from this network…
NAWAZ June 1, 2011 at 6:45 pm

Mahmood Junaid June 1, 2011 at 6:34 pm
at the time of launch docomo was providing amazing speeds in kerala.. now it had capped speed to 128kbps in many places… now idea, uninor and reliance gsm is the fastest in kerala… no speed capping… in these three uninor and reliance is the fastest with upto 33kB/s speed… comparing coverage, speed as the factors idea is the best in kerala… docomo started loosing many customers because they had started withdrawing many offers and also increase the charges for some offers in kerala..
also they are going backward in gprs also… slowly i think TATA DOCOMO will rest in peace in kerala… idea and vodafone is performing well in kerala…
som June 1, 2011 at 6:33 pm
what is the gprs speed of docomo in kolkata circle?did they cap the speed here too?
chaitanya June 1, 2011 at 6:22 pm
HERE WHERE RELIANCE 3G COMMENCE, IT IS THE BEST FOR SPEED AND PACK.IT OFFERS RS.99/- FOR 6 GB .AND NOW I CAN USE ATLEAST 5 GB FOR MONTH.I AM NOT ABLE TO SPEND 1 GB BEFORE WHEN IT WAS DOCOMO OR UNINOR AIRTEL.. GO FOR THIS USE 3G SIM AND 2G PACK.
BETTER TO USE DATA MODEM INSTEAD OF ANY MOBILE.
devx101 June 1, 2011 at 6:10 pm
the text of the statement is quite unusual. It looks like tata docomo are reducing tariff and even using words like rationalisation. but actually they are increasing their tariff by decreasing their validity
Emad June 1, 2011 at 5:20 pm
+5 to kevin docomo should rationalize more in the 48 pack data should 500 mb and validiy 15 day hope docomo do this soon bsnl is increasing gprs usage and ducomo is decreasing
Vicky June 1, 2011 at 5:01 pm
how is coverage and downloading speed
M June 1, 2011 at 4:16 pm
Bsnl still best hey mere liye 2GB data,i can consum with in 10days.
Saurabh June 1, 2011 at 4:11 pm
Might be speed in other states getting worst. But here in Haryana it’s getting better and better and it’s even faster than what they use to provide when Docomo was launched. The maximum speed I got on Edge network is 50KBps or 400Kbps and I’m not joking at all. If someone needs proof, I can even provide screenshots. 3G is still not available in our town. I was surprised to see that much speed with N73 as max. speed it can provide on Edge is 296.6Kbps and its UMTS also upto 384 Kbps. The speed confused me a lot as how can it(N73) provide speed more than UMTS on GSM mode and Edge.
rajesh June 1, 2011 at 3:59 pm
instead of spending their energies and brain on finding ways to downgrade or rationalise – as in their words, they should stop capping their gprs speed to 128 kbps and increase gprs speed to max possible without any throttling or restriction – for the good of customers and themselves.
else, customers will start dumping docomo and find other better alternatives! kiss – keep it simple silly tata docomo!

Saumidh June 1, 2011 at 3:11 pm
tata docomo nodal officer told me that maximum speed one can get on edge network of docomo is 16KBps (or 128Kbps)…
Rajesh June 1, 2011 at 3:10 pm
Waiting for completing 90days with DOCOMO.
Rafeek June 1, 2011 at 3:08 pm
Uninor best in tamil nadu. RC 47 2gb free plus daily 100sms free for 30days…
Ashish June 1, 2011 at 3:07 pm
Let this also go to BSNL who being a Govt establishment is charging higher than TATA.
I think BSNL should be sold to TATA for better service and management
Anandh June 1, 2011 at 3:05 pm

i’m thinking of porting my tata docomo number to vodafone..
kevin June 1, 2011 at 2:53 pm
when does degrading down the offers become ” continue its best offers in industry ” by tata docomo. they have become crazy i must say… 21 days validity makes no commonsense i must say.
instead of launching and introducing longer validity gprs/3g packs like bsnl, virgin, aircel, vodafone etc. these tata docomo crackjacks are hell bent on downgrading in the name of rationalizing.
the days of tata docomo’s success is numbered and they are digging their own grave. may god give them some sense and wisdom!
lee June 1, 2011 at 2:51 pm
