whether Tata DOCOMO Photon Plus work on CDMA(Tata indicom) or GSM (Docomo)?

  • Sam January 13, 2012 3:01 pm

To add , relaince 3G is blocking incoming connections for all those who use apn:RCOMNET which is mostly used in north region, in south their is some other apn used and no problem there.

  • Sam January 13, 2012 3:00 pm

Do you know, Reliance 3G is blocking all incoming connections ports ? I have called customer care many times and discussed with the technical team but even after spending 45 days with them , they are not able to solve it. Basically if you connect your PC with reliance 3G , then you cannot access any port on it from outside reliance network, like from any other provider.
Also they are blocking ping command, after my complaint they started ping but after sometime they stop it again. I am not sure what is current status.
Technical team , some where in south India, as i got calls from them earlier and they are totally non technical.

  • WiMax January 11, 2012 4:06 am

Now a days tata docomo GPRS SPEED is become worst. And it disconnect every 50min. I contact customer care lots of time but they are unable to solve by problem. Tata docomo is india’s most worst network. So keep away from it. Totaly flop to gain their subscriber base. So my advice is not to use tata docomo. And their online chat customer care not support with firefox 10, google chrome 17, or ie 9

Reliance has finally reduced the tariff on its 3 G Data Plan Now one gets 5GB @ 800..10 GB@1002 and 15 GB @ 1300 IN PREPAID…along with this as first recharge coupon one gets 3GB for 102…Now I reckon Tata Photon Plus has some serious competition as the said plans are better than one offered by photon plus…I am convinced about the speed of Reliance 3 G ..it offers generally at least 1-1.5 Mbps whereas photon plus offers .2-.4 Mbps consistenly..only thing now left is reliability of services..where photon plus is excellent..only if Reliance can assure of uninterrupted services like photon plus I reckon game is over for photon plus as reliance would offer at least twive the speed at lesser rates…hope photon plus also reduce the tariff…Price wrs have begun in this New Year..

    • Joy Ganguly September 14, 2013 11:37 pm

cdma gives more reliable data connection.. gsm cannot. so tata photon is the choice.
if you are working from home and connected to office using vpn, then expect disconnections if you use gsm technology (3g).. cdma is meant for data transfer and its reliable… so go for cdma if you want uninterrupted downloads and vpn connections

  • Manil December 26, 2011 4:13 pm

Disagree with some of you here…Tata Photon does offer the fastest speeds, even in remote locations…I’ve even used it in places like Alibag and it worked fine..As regards to the plans you can either look at it as the glass half full or half empty

  • Vibhas December 26, 2011 9:45 am

Look at the innovative scheme of photon plus when Device price was 2399 they had 10 GB plan @1100 with 200 cash back…then the device price was reduced to 1799 nd 10 GB plan@ 1100 with 150 cash back was launched and now the device prices have been reduced to 1199 and 10 GB@ 1200 with 100 cash back launched ..so effectively increasing prices….as if people wont know the reality behind this marketing gimmick of reduced prices…come on Tata grow up..give some actual benefits instead of illusionary benefits…

  • Vibhas December 26, 2011 9:18 am

Tata Photon earlier had a 10 GB plan @ 1100/month with 150 cash back…now they have 10 GB plan @1200/month with 100 cash back..when the price has been reducing on all fronts (even 3G players have started giving double data benefit )Tata is the only player which increases rentals…hope this New Year they come out with some really good plans …otherwise with advent of 3G there is going to be severe pressure on TATA…

They did not paid a single paisa in 3g auction, but they are charging more than 3g providers! For these operators bogus plans cdma will never be prefered by Indians!

    Well Said.

Very True… MTS and BSNL EVDO far better than Tata…

  • Pavan S N December 20, 2011 6:38 am

All those who planning to buy this please dont. I’m cheated by these people saying “MONEY BACK GUARENTEED” No return of money; no return of device. So I had incurr a loss of Rs.2000/- (app.).If you discontinue your service they’ll send legal notice and you have to suffer then. Better be satisfied with your provider.

  • Sudhakar December 20, 2011 6:31 am

After free usage they have mentioned that speed will be reduced to 155 kbps. But no one will be sure that we will get 155 kbps really. So it is REALLY WASTE OFFER.
