is Tata Docomo shutting down its services in Karnataka?
Adi-Bangalore December 26, 2012 at 3:49 pm
Useless …..
Tata docomo have been increasing tariff continually from past three months.
All of its STV/PV or rate cutters are useless.
For all the STV/PV there is a common condition:
“1st min. of the day will be charged @ 2p/ sec” or “1st 2 mobile mins. of the day will be charged at 2p/ sec”
And, they are giving “on-net” sms benefits!!! as if they have a huge(??) customer base!!!
With these kind of tariff and price hike, tata docomo will soon be rejected completely by customers.
TD has many ways to contact support – voice/email/chat. But, the only use is you can get the unnoticed deduction of your balance and nothing else. For all other issues, they have a standard procedure – “take complaint and give resolution date, on the resolution date close the complaint.” That’s it.
They hiked base tariff for existing customers. Started sending fake missed call alerts. 3G data connection is a BIG problem from past 6 months. Very very poor indoor coverage in cities and no coverage in rural areas.
And TRAI – it always makes rules which firsts benefits the telecom companies. With its regulations, customer is always in loss. For e.g., SMS – before TD providing 200 sms/day for 53 RC 90 days val, now 100 sms/day same 53RC with 60 days val!!!
At the end, no-body can do nothing, because we the Indians are First class citizens ruled by Third class government!!

Its very nice services from docomo
Arjun Chandrashekar December 25, 2012 at 2:10 pm
Please We Request not to opt for DOCOMO Coz The Service is Very Very Bad in Karnataka. IF I Compare With Airtel/Idea/BSNL Docomo is Nothing in Indoor Coverage. No Network In Rural Areas. and Customer Support Executives Says That They Need to Visit TATA Teleservices office located @ Koramangala which is Ridiculous. So Beware About TD.
Arif December 25, 2012 at 2:05 pm
TATA DOCOMO’s signal is jumping jack. So don’t use TATA’s connection for important use otherwise one day you will kick yourself.
Arjun Chandrashekar December 25, 2012 at 7:13 pm
Right Arif. TATA DOCOMO Coverage is Very Ridiculous and most Worst Signal Even In Honda Factory located @ Rajasthan and Karnataka You Wont Get TD Signals Inside
PRAKASH WADEYAR December 25, 2012 at 12:15 pm
Third class service by third class Indian company, Mr TATA please please stop your service, I know that you think Indians are stupid and whatever you do they cant complain. Even your cdma is sucking like anything, you opened pan shop like stalls and one or two uneducated guys sitting without knowledge of anything, for our each and every complaint they will tell that sir kindly visit our head office in Koramangala (Bangalore). I thanked them because they just said Koramangala not Bombay House(Mumbai). Even TATA stoped rural CDMA towers and treating customers like dogs.
I appeal all people please don’t buy any TATA product,
Yours …..
Arjun Chandrashekar December 25, 2012 at 2:04 pm
TATA DOCOMO’s Coverage is Worst. No Signal in Rural Areas and KIADB Industrial Areas in Karnataka Where AIRTEL/IDEA/VODAFONE/BSNL/AIRCEL/RELIANCE GSM Exists
rudresh December 25, 2012 at 11:39 am

Saurabh December 24, 2012 at 7:00 pm
There was a time when any news or article or advertisemevr related to Tata Docomo used to catch everyone’s eyes but that is gone now. Docomo’s service quality is on a slide in Haryana and users are no more interested in it with pricing coming almost equal to private operators like Airtel, Idea and Vodafone which have better coverage and quality.
Regarding the 2G or 3G internet- It’s very difficult to get connected after 9 in the morning and it continues till 1 AM next day. So only 8 hours are there in which you can connect at first try. Sometimes it takes more than 20 tries which is a big headache. This problem is there from 2 months yet no resolution and this isn’t a problem only at my place, it’s almost everywhere in Haryana.
2G Data reduced- Docomo has reduced data in all their packs and it is few MB’s more than other operators. So paying just to get some extra MB’s and that too with connectivity problem all day along adds to your woes.
Call rate cutter prices up- The local pack which used to provide 1 or 1.2p/2s for 84 days is now costlies by 30 rupees.
I know to survive they had to increase charges but where is the quality and where is the network?
Even Airtel is offering 1p/2s for 90 days in Haryana for just Rs.65 which is 10 less than Docomo.
Docomo always struggled in Haryana even when they were cheap and never reached million subscribers mark. Currently GSM base stands at 816,743 and it will further go down.
Customer Care Blocking- This cheap tactic is being used by Docomo to avoid customers and to avoid redressal of their concern. In 24 hours you can only call once and it’s open only next day after that. If you call 3 times in 3 days, you will be blocked for a month. They also started charging for calls to CC like others.
Balance Deduction- I’ve faced unwanted service activation and balance deduction 4 times in last 15 days though everytime I got my balance back but company is using this old cheap tactic to make money.
My 2G pack is active till Jan 10, 2013 after that I will put their SIM in a box where I keep my things and never insert it back. I’ll not port as already have SIM of every operator.
As Videocon has retained its license in Haryana, I will recharge that number if a new cell site gets installed near my area and coverage gets better as currently Videocon signals are low in my area. But their operations are in full swing now and no problem regarding recharges. They have updated their IVR systems and CC numbers are also working fine. USSD menu is also updated. There are no changes in pack pricing until now but lets see whether they revise plans after Jan 18th. By Jan 10th, they also have to update BTS config with re-allocated frequency which is 1814.20 MHz to 1819.20 MHz on downlink.
Until they install new BTS, I will use my Idea SIM once net pack on TD expires.

Saurabh
You have pointed all those point which I too wanted to say and only in haryana its not this going on but in uttar pradesh Saharanpur is also the same condition I’m even fed up if they are charging like airtel idea and vodafone then why they don’t provide service like them Pluse they are even not interested in improving there network….
Adil December 24, 2012 at 11:01 pm
One more thing tata docomo also started auto disconnection of net after every 35-40 mins which is headache after that net even don’t connect for several hours (as we know that the net does not connect easily in docomo)…
jigar December 24, 2012 at 11:08 pm
@Saurabh,Videocon has retained its license in Gujarat, Now, In Gujarat circle Videocon also joined hands with other service provider in terms of increasing Tariff and reduce GPRS DATA and voice services from 22nd Dec.-2012,But services are now better then earlier and also compare with TATA DOCOMO GUJARAT. Tata docomo lost customer due to it’s false balance deduction.
Videocon Withdraw it’s true unlimited plan and Reduce GPRS data.
Saurabh December 24, 2012 at 11:40 pm
@Adil, You’re right. I forgot to mention the auto-disconnection problem. Here the time is set at 40 minutes. So every 40 minutes you have to face disconnection which is the another reason for me to leave Docomo.
@Jigar, I know that they also retained license in Gujarat but as I said there is no revision in price plans in Haryana. But price hike is inevitable. So they will either hike or reduce data here also. For me the matter is not pricing but the quality.
The best thing I found in Videocon is their voice clarity which is too good as compared with any other operator. Even Idea and Vodafone which are operating on 900MHz here don’t have their voice clarity anyway near to Videocon but I face low signal problem. I can use Voice but not data. Internet does connects but either very little or no data transfer because of large distance from cell site. But it works fine near tower or within 1.2Kms radius with speed 35-40KB/s. From my location tower is exact 2.3 Kms.
Arjun Chandrashekar December 25, 2012 at 7:17 pm
Especially I’ve Left Docomo Due To Disconnection of Signals in Indoors. In Karnataka Nobody is Ready to Take Tata Docomo, Because People are Wise and They are Going For Other Operators. Coz Docomo Failed To Provide Signals in Rural Areas and in Towns Coverage is Very Bad. That’s Why We Prefer AIRTEL, IDEA, VODAFONE, AIRCEL, BSNL and RGSM

Dude i agree with u on the CC end. They block calls to customer calls after one call made in a day.I faced this in kerala and complained multiple times but still they deny. Finally i ported out to Aircel.
