Tata DOCOMO is all set to roll out its pan India GSM service from TamilNadu in few days analyst believe that DOCOMO will be launching its GSM service in Kerala, Karnataka Orissa during first phase of roll out operation.
On June 10th when Tata Tele announced the launch of its GSM service cited that the commercial launch would begin with telecom circles in south India though Tata Docomo has the needful spectrum to start its GSM operation.
But Docomo is yet to receive the GSM spectrum in Delhi circle and for three other circles in Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and north east circle with this launch Tata Tele service will become the second service provider after Reliance offering both GSM and CDMA service under the dual technology policy of the government.

We have finally launched our unlimited GPRS plan and we will be introducing it in 2 packages. The first package will be the ‘Rs. 15 GPRS Pack’. This is a pre paid pack wherein a customer can recharge with Rs.15, and thereafter the customer will be allowed to access unlimited data for next 3 days by selecting Docomo internet APN on their handsets. The second package will be the ‘Rs. 95 GPRS Pack’. In this pack, the customer can recharge with Rs. 95, and thereafter the customer will be allowed to access unlimited data for the next 30 days. These packages will be applicable to TATADOCOMO home and roaming network only.

Look guys running a mobile service (specially when one starts up) can have issues, we can screw up at times, but do grant it to us that as a Tata company our philosophy is always customer interest first. Tata Docomo team = “Bunch of losers”
Why am I saying this. My part of the story as follows:
1) Total top-up / recharge rs 100 (rs 50×2). Balance after over 1 month rs 23.
Why? Unable to make any out going calls. “Network busy” not a single
call gets connected let alone Land line or mobiles even 121 does not connect.
2) If by chance the call gets connected it drops in 10 to 20 sec.
3) Sometimes I am lucky, the call gets connected and in the middle of the call I get call charges message / balance message.
4) 9030012345 Tata Docomo CC # cannot get connected using Reliance mobile.
5) Tried calling 9030000121. Mobile switched off.
All in all Tata Docomo is in a very very bad experience.
My suggestion to all out there, do not get carried away with 1p / per sec.
Its pure BS. As it makes no sense when one cannot make any out going calls.
I have lost all hopes on this company.

In continuation to the earlier complaint, my first complaint Nos were: 1) NWK 09062266 dt 18th Aug 2009 2) NWK09062282 dt 18th Aug 2009. ON line complaint Nos were:95654 and 95658 dt 19th Aug 2009. The above complaints were closed without informing me.They would have closed after seeing the connections working. but the connections have worked only for five minutes. this they would not have observed. I have requested in my 2nd email to keep the two lines under observation for 24 hours to check the continuation of working.Again I have placed complaints to your customer care and in Online also. Now two days are over, but so far not rectified.Why your rectification team is so irresponsible? What will happen for my Rs.800/- & Rs. 135/- worth of talk time.Could you change the SIMs and charge the value of talktime in new SIMs. Please do fast and solve the problem.

I took two connections and worked well for almost two weeks very nicely.Suddenly on 18th Aug both connections were Off for want of signal and no out going and incoming.I have lodged complaint with customer care for both connections.THe team tried 3 times and both connections will work for one to five minutes and then become off.This I explained the team from customer care to Appellate Authority several times and they could not find the exact nature of mistake and every body says that it will be rectified by evening but no progress for the past 7 days.On 20th the team has closed the complaints without rectifying the mistakes.Actually I feel that the SIMs are having problem. The dealer might have given faulty SIMs.Those packs were in opened condition.I read your conditions only after getting the SIM in loaded condition. I took the packs from Avadi dealer.No body is sincere to find out the problem.The mobile numbers are:1) 9043715402
2) 9043626828 I am raising this complaint after exhausting all the channels of higher authorities I know. Pl.forward to the concerned authorities if this coloumn does not pertains to the complaints.

u cannot expect both excellent coverage and excellent offers
u have 2 choose one
for example airtel goes for excellent coverage and moderate offers
where as reliance GSM and TATA GSM are for great offers but moderate coverage
choice is yours
better keep 2 phones one of which is between airtel,vodafone
and the other between docomo,reliance gsm,aircel
i keep 2 phones one is airtel and the other is aircel and make most calls from aircel and airtel is basically for incoming purpose

well you were right..the japanese have done it again…their strategy has just left everyone surprised..ofcourse credit must be given to tata ofcourse..together they have come up with a brand that is energetic, young and this can be clearly seen by their logo design and website (http://www.tatadocomo.com/default.aspx)…also they have their 1paisa/sec offer wher ALL local and STD calls have been designed as per the 1sec pulse..so you dont overpay for a short call!!

@Emad, Yea I saw that, but that pulse rate is just for Roaming call charges, like when Tata Docomo customer uses their phone in roaming then all call will be chargeable at flat 60 sec pulse /no per second as their home network.That 60 sec pulse are not for GPRS, the GPRS charges is 10p for 10kb as they cited on the website.

Its said that DOCOMO is the market leader in Japan. Other operators and even handset manufacturers like Nokia and Sony Ericsson find it hard to sell their hand sets because of the availability of feature rich low cost hand sets being offered by DOCOMO. I think it’s going to be a raging hit. Besides, its being said that they are going to have a plan in which the customer would get unlimited Tata to Tata calls and 2000 other mobile calls for Rs. 375 only…

tata indicom is not succesful
even offers like getting talktime while receiving call is not worked well
simply they cannot compete with established players like vodafone and airtel
if they launched in 2004-05 then we can say they have a chance to grab the market
but now being so late it is very difficult to get a space in market
remember they have to bulit towers to enhance coverage as well as giving offers to public

I’m just wondering why there has been no reference about the launch plans in Andhra Pradesh. All of the South Indian states have been cited except Andhra Pradesh, though it is very much a part of South India.
