TATA Docomo Hikes 2G rates and introduce new 3G pack.

TATA Docomo has been silent for almost a year even when all other operators hiked 2G rate Rs 125 or above for 1GB. The time has finally come, Docomo has revised 2G data packs to be in par with its rivals.

tata docomo 2G hike

Docomo now gives only 750MB for Rs 95 21 days pack and 1GB comes at a cost of Rs 126 for 25 days and Rs 139 for 30 days. Similarly 1.5GB pack comes at Rs 148 for 25 days and Rs 159 for 30 days. The largest pack now available is Rs 249 for 3GB 45 days. Docomo has also revised some small packs too. Rs 16 pack revised to 120MB for 3 days and Rs 31 pack to 250MB for 7 days. Also hiked 500MB data pack to Rs 69 for 12 days.

On 3G front Docomo was offering double usage for most data packs. So didn’t respond when Reliance, Aircel and BSNL lowered 3G rates to 2G level. But Docomo was missing 1GB pack as it was offering double usage of 1GB + 1GB on Rs 255 pack. Now they have introduced Rs 175 1GB 30 days data pack to fill the gap. The tariff is higher than Aircel, BSNL and Relaince 3G 1GB packs, but are much lower compared to Airtel, Idea and Vodafone 3G packs.

  • Sibin December 7, 2013 3:25 pm

Lol… Now porting to AVoId is an open gate since Docomo has unified tarrif as that of Avoid….(just a small difference) but AVoId has good stable network with no 40 minute disconnection and try try policy :-D

  • kumar December 7, 2013 10:41 am

    Plz reply asap

    • Kunal December 7, 2013 10:59 am

H+ is even more better than H. It means BSNL upgraded their towers and now u can achieve good browsing speeds and no u wont be charged anything extra for this !!!

      • Darshan Malu December 7, 2013 11:41 am

Thank u….The BSNL guys dont know abt it…I asked the customer care they are not getting what i am saying….nly was worried that my bill doesnt give me shock..thx a lot…

        • kunal vashishtha December 7, 2013 3:37 pm

H+ is the multi duplexing of 3g airways. Theotrically in ideal conditions it can support upto 42.2 Mbps. It depends upon operator to operator that what limit they decide and imply. As if you are getting 7.1 Mbps it means it is throttled to it . There is nothing to worry about bill shocks. You will get higher speeds but no bill shocks.

Bsnl 139 gives 1.1gb 3g 30 days val and 135 gives 350 min any nw local+std for voice is the best choice in india. Pan india nw presence kasmir se kanyakumari

  • Ram December 6, 2013 10:05 pm

In tamilnadu, there is huge network connectivity problem, call drops, worst voice clarity. Totally dumb.

  • Amit December 6, 2013 6:33 pm

Whenever I use DoCoMo 3G/2G in my Lumia 520 Internet gets connected in seconds showing H+ ( speeds at 1Mbps in Bangalore) After 40 mins it gets disconnected showing just 3G in network notification & when I open web browser it again gets connected in secs.
But when I use the same in my Android smartphone( Xolo Q700) It takes minutes to connect & after 40 mins I need to restart or try hitting on data on/off for several times to connect.
    Anybody experiencing the same?

    • Adil December 7, 2013 11:10 am

Every one experience the same in Android
Its better not to switch your mobile off rather try flight mode and then unflight mode ….

  • lol December 6, 2013 4:20 pm

Time to change to bsnl. Bye bye docomo

    • Xyz December 6, 2013 7:04 pm

In north bsnl is phathetic if it improves its services it will be ok

      • lol December 6, 2013 9:49 pm

yes I have personally experienced slow speeds in delhi at 1mbps in roaming on dolphin.
but no problem for me in a.p as bsnl has good coverage in a.p and speeds of 10mbps.

  • Darshan Malu December 6, 2013 12:27 pm

When BSNL is providing 1gb 3g data at 139 who will pay in docomo 1gb 2g for139rs
There network is so poor that if i go 1km out of city there is no network…
Even idea for postpaid in maharashtra is providing 1gb 3g data @125rs n 2gb 2g @126rs who will use docomo

‘Auto disconnection n several attempts to connect ‘ is not yet resolve . N this terrif hike ? What s ttsl aiming ? Other operators reducing 3g terrif n tata going in opposite direction ? I think they wants to get more decrease in customer base. Really upset due to tata’s such decision.I am tata user since 2010

  • Globa; December 6, 2013 10:33 am

Simply looting in the name of validity. 19 days, 25 days, 28 days and pay more for 30 days… what stupidity…. why not charge 500 Rs for 500 Mb data for 30 days, that too 2G? Everyone is making profit… its a common sense that no one will run a business if such huge losses are being made. They show losses by tweaking their accounting methods, to get an wxcuse for raising tariffs.

    • Kingston December 6, 2013 11:44 am

They are cheating people with help of Government.

I will never use docomo 3g again…disconnection problem in Bangalore is too much….also it doesn’t want to connect to 3g. Pathetic

  • Steve December 6, 2013 9:09 am

what’s So great. TT you should stop posting about Tata DoCoMo. even if they give free internet its useless. Tata gsm is one of the worst operator I have ever come across. their internet sucks.it never connects when you want and 40min disconnection adds up in the worst list. I wonder how many might still be using DoCoMo for their daily internet needs. even their cdma internet was in a mess but thank God they have rectified that problem after so many years. They have also stopped sending balance info sms after every internet session in cdma. DoCoMo please improve you services and please kick out the top officials which get all this types of stupid ideas its really irritating. I work for a electronic company and I come across hundreds of customer specially foreigners I tell them to stay away from DoCoMo…..Rip DoCoMo

  • SS December 6, 2013 8:59 am

Its somehow sure that the company might not be able to survive as they are continuously losing customers and the management is sitting helplessly watching the brand’s slow death.

    • Tharun George December 6, 2013 12:01 pm

Docomo has destroyed the last reason why someone will take a Docomo connection. For cheaper data. Who is going to pay this much for 40min disconnection.

Docomo is now just wasting too much spectrum in India, 2G, 3G and CDMA.
2G: No coverage, poor service and high tariff.
3G: Not even started at most location and costly compared to Aircel and BSNL
CMDA: Wonder whether it still exist.

      • SS December 6, 2013 1:12 pm

Its really painful to see the new players slowly poisoned to death but its all their fault. They must learn how to survive the hostile telecom market from telenor which has done very good job in the 6 circles where it has license. Though coverage and gprs is still a issue but rest things are fine. Docomo on the other hand has proved itself to be the no. 1 useless provider in india .

  • prasad mayya December 6, 2013 8:23 am

got a message ” for 37Rs 750MB 30days only for you “…. tried recharge through paytm…..but unsuccessful ….. so now i am using 7Rs pack which has 30 days validity 2ps/100kb….. best for around 300MB usage

  • Tharun George December 6, 2013 7:27 am

Docomo has gone nuts. They no coverage still hiking 2G tariff. I would have appreciated if they unified 2G and 3G like Aircel and BSNL. But instead there stupid double usage offer which may or may not be there all time is total waste.
