So no more waiting, ‘Do The New’ Campaign reaches to Kolkata. Tata Docomo, GSM venture of Tata Tele and NTT Docomo finally launched in Kolkata today though we don’t find any update on tatadocomo.com nor there is any official announcement but the SIM card is available for general public.
The starter Pack costs Rs 49 which comes with lifetime validity and zero talktime.TATA DoCoMo will be the 6th GSM operator in Kolkata, the five other operator are Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, and Reliance Smart.
Tariff:Local and STD – 1p/second,SMS (local/National/International) – 60p/120p/500p,There is no mandatory recharge option to maintain Tata Docomo lifetime connection. (Confirmed from TD CC).
customer care – 121 (from Docomo) /90380 – 12345(from others).

aircel customers will not go for tata docomo so tata docomo should offfer all tata to all tata local calls 1p/2sec without any monthly rental, if they do it will make a advantage for docomo to gain more customers,ideally it will be helpful to dodoco customers too.

i don’t think so.because there is nothing new in the tariff plans of tata docomo.the 1p/sce is plan is already available in kolkata with AIRCEL.also STV 25 is not so attractive.because in kolkata vodafone offers VF-VF @30p/min at rs.33.but if they can provide better network than AIRCEL or other then people will definitely go for docomo. i think docomo should launch a STV which will offer some free minutes from tata to tata or all local calls at 1p/2sec.
the one good thing about tata docomo is their SMS tariff plan.all local sms @60p and after 2 sms in a day next 100 sms is free.

atlast tata docomo has updated their website..now the tariff plans for kolkata is available in the website..starter pack costs rs.49 and gives lifetime validity..1p/sec STD is available for the first 15 minutes in a day and thereafter the charge will be 2p/sec.minimum recharge condition is rs.100 within 180 days..
the only juice up(STV) available is STV 25 which offers tata-tata(docomo,indicom,virgin) @ 1p/2sec.
first 2 SMS of the day will be charged and thereafter 100 Local or National SMS free for the day ..

Tata Docomo has quite a good coverage though it has just launched its services.
Tariffs are good but it has to be made bettter esp by introducing more cheaper local calls,full talktime recharges and internet packs.
Tata Docomo is being sold like hot cake.The response in Kolkata is very good as retailers are saying.What more to expect from a new player(esp regarding network).I am satisfied…

No dude, i m not the first official customer from kolkata. There were few ones who got before me. The sim card is 64k and the packaging is awesome. The connection has been activated with in 1 hr. Called to certain numbers from docomo, till now no problem here. Voice is clarity is good and the missed call alerts are free. Till now, no network problem here in saltlake, kolkata

I was moved to MTS, and it simply rocks ! though sometimes it has SMS issues, it customer care gives me best experience till. almost zero call drops, today i found MTS mini switches inside shyambazar metro along with IDEA n Tata’s – to provide better connectivity under metro tunnels !
so moving behind to Reliance GSM !!

I am from Baruipur. Here RGSM has lots of problem. Yes, from mid september the problem is less in kolkata, but the problem is still here. If you want to call CC, you must here “This root is busy”. I am using Smart from the day of lanuch (2006). I know what are the problem of Smart, but still it is best. The offer “Simply Reliance” is simply best. And every people should go through this offer.

Talked to Tata Shoppe( which sells Indicom products, and soon they will sell DocoMo products) @ Barrackpore :
Docomo launched yesterday evening, but they had the news on yesterday noon, launch was a sudden plan, so no proper distribution of SIMs. It will take 2-3 days to launch DoCoMo over Kolkata just for distributing SIMs !
How unprofessinalism it is !!

yes,Aircel is backed by Maxis,but Tata & Docomo are both having better experience and subscriber than maxis.Docomo has over 50% share among users in Japan.
And I support kaushik, Docomo will definetly fair over Aircel because it has better tariff,good promo(free smses) and most important better brand of TATA..

Aircel’s plan is same as Docomo..
Because Docomo triggered per-second-pulse war in all circles where it launched and fearing this,Aircel launched in Kolkata before tata’s launch..
But original is original.
Docomo will grab users like anything.
And Kaushik,tata docomo is not “officially” launched in Kolkata because wherever it has launched,that state’s CM (or prominent ministers) have made “first” call to Mr Anil Sardana(though we have already made them!!)
wait for Mr Sardana to come in Kolkata and then it will be “officially” launched..

But nowhere it is mentioned about 1 month validity of this offer.
And regarding STD @1p/sec 35 STV,i would like to say that it is playing ever since IVR of 9038012345 was opened almost a fortnight ago..
And in other states,still STD @1p/sec offer is running.Their official bloggers in facebook have confirmed that it is not just 1 month offer..
